7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere really isn't anything unique or noteworthy to say about this particular school. The staff is more focused on enforcing rules and on monitoring compliance than on teaching and learning. While there are a few dedicated teachers there, who understand child behavior and are skilled at dealing with it, the majority seem to lack the necessary expertise required to turn it into a positive. From my experience, there seems to be greater emphasis placed on "play-time" or "physical activity" rather than on mental activity. So if you are grooming a child to be a future professional athlete, or entertainer, I highly recommend this school. However, if is it your desire that your child attain a solid education so that he or she can develop into skilled critical thinkers that can operate in the most demanding and rigorous academic environments, you should probably look elsewhere to achieve that outcome. If you are serious about your child's education, you may want to look into Millard Public Schools.Parent Review14y ago5 Reviews - Burke High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to Burke for a couple of months as a freshman. I repeated the 8th grade, I am far behind on my education.I am disabled. At the time, I was hardly diagnosed with anything. I have FND, I am autistic with ADHD.They don't care about the disabled people who have lower support needs. They thought because I am able to walk, speak and learn that I don't need any help. They answered the questions for me during my physical evaluation. This lady made me exhaust myself going up a flight of stairs and back down, exactly how I said it would. She wrote down that I had little to no struggle with stairs. If your child needs accomodations and they have an invisible or undiagnosed disability, do not send your kid here.Other Review9mo ago8 Reviews - Alice Buffett Magnet Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe the school does not care about the students education they like talk about white privilege a lot they mistreat students they take whenever kids are bad. They did not send them home. They just say OK go back to class and the teachers flip them off and do not care they cuss a lot and there’s lots of fights and it’s very unsafe for your students here a lot of teachers don’t really care about the education of students and really they don’t even get paid the minimum wage lots of student of black students get misheard and mistreated because of their color. The boys bathroom and girls bathroom are always closed. Mostly the boys because the boys likes flushing stuff down the toilet. The girls always throw stuff around the bathroom paper dots all over the ceiling that administers do not care unless an actual fight breaks out because they were getting in trouble and the teachers don’t really administration does not care about a students well-being or education if you call them or try to talk to them, they will put you on hold and totally forget about what you are saying and they will just ignore you and they will just pretend nothing happened and they do nothing about the schools service or or clubs we put barely any money into any of the clubs. The course teacher I heard is very mean and also Dr. the principal says that she cares about the school, but barely does any fixup on it barely changes the behavior and they’re trying to change the schedules next year to a day and then full schedule the next b-day the next day and then full schedule in the next, which is going to confuse kids so many times and kids like skipping so it’s gonna help them a lot so I would just say I don’t recommend it.Student Review1mo ago12 Reviews - Check out schools near 13541 Patrick Ave.

"We’ve had a mixed experience living in this neighborhood. On the positive side, it’s a beautiful, established area with mature trees and a surprising amount of wildlife. There are also a few truly kind and welcoming neighbors who make a real effort to build community. That said, the overall environment can feel very tense. Some neighbors are quick to report minor issues, and there seems to be a strong focus on enforcement rather than communication. We’ve experienced situations where concerns were escalated to the city almost immediately, rather than neighbors talking directly with each other first. For example, after a storm knocked down a tree on our property, we received a notice to remove it within 30 days—but it was difficult to even get a tree service scheduled in that timeframe. Situations like that can feel frustrating, especially when you’re already dealing with unexpected damage. There have also been instances where notes were left rather than having a conversation, which can make the neighborhood feel less welcoming. Overall, it’s a visually lovely neighborhood, but the experience can depend heavily on neighbor interactions. For those considering moving here, it may be worth understanding the expectations and level of enforcement ahead of time."
