It is approx 13 miles from Poway, 20 miles from Escondido and 30 miles from the beach. Delightfully situated as a semi-rural "bedroom community" of the larger city of San Diego in southern California, Ramona gently combines the amenities of a larger community with small-town charm. With a population of approximately 40,000, Ramona is the fastest growing unincorporated town in San Diego County. Lying inland, Ramona enjoys a more seasonal climate than most of San Diego County. Warmer in the summer (average 90 high - 53 low) and cooler in the winter (average 67 high - 35 low). Another Ramona advantage is waking up to a blue sky in the mornings; because it's far enough from the ocean to escape coastal cloudiness in the mornings and evenings, thus giving Ramona it's nickname "Valley of the Sun." Six month minimum occupancy. $50 discount possible for those who live up to all the terms of the agreement and pay rent by 4pm on the first of every month. Pets must be reasonable for the conditions. Security deposit fluctuates based on risk factors of applicant, not less than one month's rent, nor more than two. No last month rent in advance.

    "Everyone knows everyone. Teach your kids respect and kindness. It goes a long way! Since it’s not easy to get places. Most kids have motorized scooters or bikes. Please teach the safety like wearing a helmet and not cutting cars off or speeding with them. We don’t want them to get hurt!"

    "Family friendly, great neighbors! We get occasional visits from wild turkeys, peacocks, owls and perrogine falcons. We have a mated pair of hawks, that we have watched raise babies since 2009! In the spring we get migrating Monarchs and Moutain finches. You can see the milky way most nights. Lots of town events, like the Rodeo and Fair. Ramona has a community Halloween event, and most of the town trick or treats on main street. They have activities for the 4th of July and Christmas. There are easy hiking trails like the Grasslands and more difficult ones such as Mount Woodsen and everything in between. The only con is commuting for work, not a lot of traffic just the distance of you work in San Diego."
