Is it a surprise that the two highest-rated schools in our area are also the two areas with the highest average income? Does that mean that those schools teach better? No, it means that the parents are most likely educated and place a higher value on education, which is why they make more. There is no objective test for these schools. The real test would be what the school starts with in terms of a student and how they develop that student. Millard Hawk is an excellent school because it is safe and has a caring, vested principal and teachers who want to make a difference. If you want your child to learn and you take an active role in their education, then Central Square Schools can get your student as far as they want to go. If you aren't going to take an active role, then you have unreasonable expectations of what any school can do.I predict that as new, higher-end housing developments are built, the district's average household income will increase, and its overall test scores will improve comparatively.
