5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am deeply alarmed by the ongoing safety issues in the Hays CISD district, particularly in the special education classroom at Hemphill and Hays Independent School Districts. My children, who are in the special education program, have experienced severe physical harm, including the loss of a fingertip, and regularly come home with injuries. Despite reporting these incidents, justice has not been served. The lack of accountability and failure to provide a safe learning environment is unacceptable. I implore the district attorney and school authorities to take immediate action, hold those responsible accountable, and ensure the safety and well-being of all students, especially those in the special education program. Our children deserve justice and protection.Parent Review1mo ago - Lehman High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAS a parent and training observer I found the staff to be highly qualified in this era of leadership and essence. The personal observation and touch to the attending students is outstanding to the point where it brings me back to my own educational esperience back in1969 where the devotion stood out beginning with the Principal's wholehearted attention to all students for each grade. Knowing the students makes a big difference and this is what I saw. I only wish I had devoted myself to my own education because the devotion of the teachers is at Leyman. Yes, some students may feel being yelled at but at this age listening isn't a big teenager skill. To see the teacher's admiration towards their students is admirable all the way around. It takes collaboration , skill and admiration to get a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly job done and this school has it. When I saw the scholarship funds at last years graduation I saw the dedication from all the STAFF's input into this process. Leyman received the highest funds in Scholarships for their students. Who would want to go anywhere else? This is an indication that all you need to do at this school is TRY. The support of the parents is wonderful too. I see them at UIL's, games, etc. and best of all I admire the student and parents excellent and admirable focus on what they do. Their time and effort is commendable in every supporting way. The Principal is there and everywhere. You can see the LOVE for her students. It's not a Mother to Child relationship here; its a person to personable touch. The desire of wanting her students to be successful. If you ask the Principal for help, she helps you anyway she can. I've seen it and I admire it. To hear a student who joins the Armed Serivices comes back to see her and to hear students sound her name is admirable. The ROTC is great and I especially love this program to Veterans. The Band is so dedicated and the parents are all supportive. May it be Mariachi, the Plays, basketball, the weight lifting, the Mechanic Team, All the extra curricular activities are fun and there she is again... The Principal. What a devoted inspirational Source at this School. I congratulate the entire School. They may not always win a game but they love what they do. So if there is a student out there wanting to succeed...see a teacher, a counselor and know that your Principal is there for you. All you have to do is ASK.Parent Review1y ago - D J Red Simon Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school isn't that bad the students have improved their attitude since 6th grade. We're more of a fine arts school our band hall has a lot of trophies and has gotten 1 in UIL multiple years in a row, while our theater department has won sweepstakes two years in a row and also received awards for multiple students. Choir also has a lot of awards while also getting a number 1 ranking in UIL. Our mariachi has gotten a number 1 ranking too. While we're not the greatest at sports (except soccer) we still try our best to be great at it. The students are working very hard to improve their academic skills.Student Review1y ago - Check out schools near 133 Folsom St.

"Dog owners often do not leash their dogs. Lots of college students have dogs run out of their house into the street. Too many dog owners do not pick up after their dog and will leave poop on your yard. Dog park is 5 minutes away: nighttime is the busiest time. "

"I have lived here for over a year and I truly believe it’s one of the best places I’ve ever lived. You can walk into a forest from your house. If I were buying a house here I would feel completely satisfied. The people are very respectful and yet friendly, but not too much. It’s very quiet yet there are plenty of children here. "
