4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’ve been part of the Centennial community for many years, with all six of my kids attending at different times and with very different needs. Between IEPs, 504 plans, and advanced learning, we’ve experienced a wide range of what the school offers.Throughout that time, I’ve found the staff to be attentive, approachable, and truly invested in their students as individuals. There’s a clear focus on providing structure while also supporting growth, and that combination has made a positive difference for my kids. From an academic standpoint, my children have been appropriately challenged while still receiving the support they needed. Communication from the school has been steady and reliable.Centennial is a Title I school with a diverse student population, and that diversity adds to the strength of the community. It’s a place where many families feel connected and included. Most importantly, my kids have felt seen, supported, and cared for during their time here.Parent Review2mo ago6 Reviews - Westlake Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageParents: Do NOT assume every meeting with this school administration is being handled fairly or professionally just because it happens behind closed doors. Many students leave those offices feeling intimidated, misrepresented, emotionally distressed, or afraid to speak up. Families often do not realize how important documentation becomes until it is too late. Here’s what every parent and student should know: • Keep a paper trail (Emails, Phone Calls, Copies of Documents) • Save emails and screenshots • Write down dates, times, witnesses, and exact statements • Follow up after meetings with an email summary • Ask for policies or disciplinary decisions in writing • Do not rely solely on verbal conversations Too many important conversations happen privately where there is no independent record of what was actually said. That is why documentation matters. The reality is that people become comfortable saying things behind closed doors that they would never put into writing or say publicly. Comments or tones that can be rude, dismissive, intimidating, manipulative, or inappropriate because there is an assumption that nothing will be documented and nobody will be held accountable afterward. Emotional reactions from students or parents may later be used against them as justification or defense. That is why it is so important to remain calm, composed, and focused on documentation and written follow-ups. Accountability in writing creates a record that cannot easily be denied or changed later. It is also important to document conversations even when they seem friendly or respectful. Many families assume there is no need to follow up if someone sounds nice or professional, but maintaining a consistent paper trail is extremely important regardless of tone. Parents and students should also understand how quickly narratives can form once a student is labeled as “difficult,” “emotional,” or “problematic.” Future situations may begin to be interpreted through that lens regardless of context. A clear written history can help protect students and families from misunderstandings or one-sided versions of events. Colorado is a one-party consent state. Individuals may legally record conversations they are part of. Families should educate themselves on their rights, district procedures, state and federal laws. "Very dog friendly. Great places to walk your dog. A number of dog parks are very close to the area and very driveable. No one seems to complain about the number of dogs either. "

"I work from home and live near the HWY 36 and Wadsworth exchange. Because it’s mostly multi family units in my area there’s only a few walkable places. Mainly however if you live in the Arista neighborhood. I can’t speak for the more established neighborhoods. "

"I don’t go to any gatherings anymore. I walk my son’s dog twice a day; day and night. However, I don’t walk alone. The dog walkers are mostly very friendly. But, people with aggressive dogs on their yards are very obnoxious and unfriendly. I like the neighborhood very much because my neighbors are all wonderful people. "

"To protect their children from strangers. This neighborhood is old. Many elderly people live here. The HOA is relatively doing its job, kind of. On Halloween, no children came to our door, which it is odd. Walking my dog, I am able to find waste containers. But, I don’t think these people are friendly. The dogs behind our rental home suffer from excessive barking. I’m so looking forward to move out of this neighborhood and go to a friendlier one away from here."

"The one neighborhood event someone tried to organize didn't come to fruition; having said that, everyone is friendly, and it seems that everyone is there for their neighbors when they're needed. It's an established neighborhood and a lot of the neighbors have known each other for years, if not decades."

"It’s a nice neighborhood but do have a major complaint; as a dog owner, I walk my dog twice a day for four miles. The problem with this neighborhood is the lack of enough dog waste containers for dog owners to throw it away. I have calculated that it takes me 1/4 of a mile to find a container. Sometimes, it has taken me half a mile to find one based on my route throughout Lexington, The Preserve and McKay Shores. The HOA for each subdivision should add dog waste containers throughout these neighborhoods landscaped areas, if they want to continue their beauty. "
