FRESHLY PAINTED!

The comfortable maple kitchen has ample storage, granite counter-tops, large sink/disposal, fridge, gas stove/oven, vent hood, microwave, and dishwasher. Floors are in maple. Each bedroom shows the two hundred year old hewn wood ceiling beams, has a good sized organized closet, and has a separate entrance to the living room area. High quality furniture is used throughout the apartment. Two full en-suite bathrooms are clad in travertine marble and each has Jacuzzi bathtubs. Blinds, not in the photos, allow privacy and light control. Your laundry is taken care off with your own large high-efficiency washer and dryer. Clothes have well arranged closet space. Your own and separate central air-conditioning and heating keep the apartment extremely comfortable and filters the air. There is a decorative fireplace in the living room. Large screen TV included. Once a month basic maid service is included. Monthly rent includes utilities (electric, water, gas and sewer). No pets please. No smoking. Lease to be 12 months or more.

The apartment is secure with your own locked main gate entrance leading to the apartment door. The entrance area and property are walled and equipped with outdoor lights.

The apartment also features an outdoor patio area with a bistro table and chairs in a secluded and peaceful garden space. We have the garden maintained.

This apartment is perfect for anyone. Georgetown University is a very short walk away. You are less than 2 blocks from the array of shops and restaurants on both Wisconsin and on M Street, and less than a 10 minute walk to the excitement of Washington Harbor, movies and the new Georgetown Waterfront Park, boat houses, Crescent Trail and two blocks to Volta Park tennis and basketball courts and the great public pool. Metro buses are two blocks away and all metro buses, including the Circulator, go to, and come from, the K Street , IMF, and World Bank Group building areas (Pennsylvania Ave.). The Bank Group and IMF are walking distance as are the Rosslyn and Foggy Bottom Metro stations.

Surrounded by single family homes, street parking is available and as a tenant, if you have a car, you will get a zone 2 residence sticker which allows parking all the time. This is also the same zone as the World Bank and IMF buildings, allowing you to street park there without the additional $300 monthly expense.

Some comments from our renters are below. We make sure to maintain the apartment in excellent shape.

Our prior renters who work at the IMF and the EU say this:

"We had a wonderful 2 years in the garden apartment at 34th street. It is really an unique place in an unique neighborhood. While it is very close to lively M street and all the shops and restaurants Georgetown has to offer, once you go through that gate you enter a very quite place with a lovely garden and a very characteristic house. The apartment has everything you need, we especially enjoyed that it has a guestroom with separate bathroom, as we had often family and friends visiting us. The landlord was always very helpful and it was convenient to have them so close by as they live in the rest of the house. We are sad to leave!"

One month security deposit.

  • Trulia User
"This neighbourhood is about as European a village as any place in America. You can walk everywhere for literally anything you need in day to day life (food, medicine, hospitality, entertainment, sport). It’s a largely sheltered paradise from so much urban strife that impacts other communities in and around D.C. It’s a privilege and honour to live here - and it’s an amazing place to raise ā€œcity childrenā€. "
  • Trulia User
"I don't know because I don't have any pets in my house, but I have been seeing a lot of pets getting around and having fun with their tutors. So, I suppose it's a really good place. "

"All of the neighbors know each other on a first name basis -- from every single home on the street. I often come out on snowy mornings to find one of them has shoveled my sidewalk and stairs, or put away my trash cans. On Halloween, residents -- many in costume - sit on their doorsteps to greet trick or treaters. A truly fun and unique place to live."
  • paulatg4
"I live in this area and I love it. When you cross Dumbarton Bridge, you cross into a green, residential neighborhood, but it is within walking distance of the central business district. "
