"Itโ€™s just a quiet sunset residential town. People move here because of the school districts. Thatโ€™s the main incentive that draws people in, since thatโ€™s where most of our property taxes go. Itโ€™s mostly family oriented. "
  • Forman.ellie
"Walkable to Metra train to city โ€” then about a 40-minute train ride. Also close drive to highway with approx 40-60-minute drive to city. "
  • Pankapanka52
"Itโ€™s a sundown town. The schools are good. However, thereโ€™s not much diversity. If you have a car, you have everything you need and youโ€™re close to 94 and 294, which makes it ideal to commute from the northern suburbs. Itโ€™s quiet for the most part and thereโ€™s not much going on. Itโ€™s mostly a residential town. You only live here if you have kids."
  • Tsdaniels11
"People have respect for other people, property and diversity. Every town has its clicks and issues but overall itโ€™s a good place to live."
  • Ashley27norris
"Northbrook is great. Overall good area, close to the highway and good food places around. Dog friendly area"
  • Eddiegirl552
"Great schools parks and excellent access to airport, Evanston and all expressways. Also , the neighborhood is diverse. "
  • Gjhakel1
"Family friendly area with incredible parks and schools. Welcome ing community with lots of activities including Northbrook Days every August. We host a very popular summer โ€œconcerts in the parkโ€ and amazing 4th of July parade with a town pancake breakfast to name a few. "
  • The L. O. Y. L. ;.
"Will need to depend on personal transportation. Can walk to some places like parks and restaurants but mainly need a vehicle."
  • Millenniuman
"Glenview and Northbrook are two of the most livable cities in the north side of Chicago! Check out the schools, Park District and neighborhoods, too! All great!"
  • E
"Quiet neighbors, kids outside playing, neighbors with dogs, clean streets and yards, friendly neighbors"
  • Emily S.
"I love Northbrook. I would love to stay here for a lot longer but itโ€™s just very expensive. Great place to live with so many nice people."
  • Allison B. D.
"Convenient expressway access and great commuter train service. Also convenient to many large corporate parks and campuses."
  • Allison B. D.
"There are great schools, parks, and lots of kids. Every extra-curricular activity is available. You are close to a childrenโ€™s museum and only 25 miles from downtown Chicago. Take your kids downtown on the trainโ€”no parking worries."
  • Brit b.
"I see people walking their dogs everywhere. Plenty of sidewalk and walking paths. There are waste collection stations that supply bags for pick up. Dogs are always leashed, I donโ€™t know of any off leash parks. "
  • Rwagley
"We enjoy interacting with all our neighbors. They are all ages from 85 to 5. They have different cultural backgrounds and have many interesting occupations."
  • Jclayreynolds
"Itโ€™s s nice quiet neighborhood. I wish that it was more diverse. There is a huge lack of diversity, unfortunately. "
