6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child enjoys school and is learning a lot - both academically and social/ emotionally. She has good friends & feels safe and respected by her teachers and the other staff. I very much appreciate the diversity of the school, and the celebration of culture and language. Over 25 languages are spoken by families at home! The staff at John Muir Elementary are caring and good at their jobs. It isn't a perfect place, and it's easy (as a parent on the outside) to think of ways I would like to make changes. But, ultimately, I trust the staff to make the best decisions for the students as a whole, given the diverse socio-economic needs of families and the limitations placed on schools by the district and state. I am happy my children have been students at John Muir Elementary.Parent Review1mo ago - Juanita High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJHS and its faculty have seemingly turned a blind eye on a major issue being same-sex harassment. In my freshman year I was repeatedly, albeit on the lower end (but still uncomfortably) touched by the same student almost every day, along with constant gaslighting by other peers that I wasn't resisting. For a period of 3 months my mental health was down the drain and I was too afraid to do or say anything. Teachers and coaches at JHS couldn't have missed it, especially when it occurred in an open gym, and during the few times it was noticed, little to no repercussions were given. What kind of school allows somethings of this caliber to slide? Was 3 months of out loud, spoken and visual harassment not firing any signals? Despite moving on, I am still reminded of these events today. The school is average at best, having little expectation of its students but the least they can do is keep their students safe.Student Review1mo ago - Kamiakin Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLove Kamiakin Middle School! The teachers and all the staff are outstanding. They really care about the students as people and as scholars. The building is very old and desperately needs to be rebuilt. Many of the classrooms do not have windows! The 7 portables in the back are also old. But my kids enjoy their classes and are clearly learning and progressing well. They have good friends and feel safe in the building. My kids can name adults they connect with and would approach with any problems. Sports and clubs are really popular. My family is very happy to be at Kamiakin!Parent Review1mo ago - Check out schools near 13024 132nd Ave NE.
