Neighborhood Description

Village Green is a neighborhood of new and older homes. They are continuing to expand the development. We are one of only a small number of houses in the development that have golf course lots. We back up to High Cedars Golf course on the fifth fairway. The course is public, very affordable, and beautiful with spectacular Mt. Ranier views and Puyallup River frontage. The views from these lots are amazing! Similar houses in the High Cedars housing development sell for over 100K more! There is a private 3 mile trail around the course great for walking/running/biking; from the trail you walk along the Puyallup River and can watch eagles, deer, and pick blackberries! Orting is a great town, it is still small and friendly, but it has all the amenities. It borders Puyallup and it is close to the center of South Hill shopping. You can easily ride the Sounder Train north to work or a Pierce Transit bus going south.

"Great community. We love it in Orting. Two kids in the school district and have had great turn out with education."
  • Tereenas
"Rails to trails, two rivers you can walk on the levy’s and a few establishments allow dogs inside. Veterinarian in town and another a mile outside of town, pet store and groomers in town too."
  • Trulia User
"Nothing is unique it’s the middle of nowhere. Well there is the fact that there’s a one lane road that’s the only way to get in or out and it takes half an hour to go 4 miles. "
  • Jesterk9@gmail.com
"easy the commute is not bad, the worst part is getting out of orting valley because there is currently one main road that runs through this small city. but if you allow an extra bit of time during high traffic then it is not so bad."
  • Robbyj4000
"Hidden Lakes Community in Orting is a close knit community that values a close knit feeling where neighbors genuinely know & care about each other. Orting still has that small town feel . "
  • Brycerk90
"Lots of rural areas as well as trails rivers Side walks acreage Also lots of residents have dogs and dogs are always welcomed in Orting "
  • Carolyn C.
"There is no public transportation and traffic at peak hours. Local traffic is non-existent, which is great."
  • Amanda K.
"just because it's a small town doesn't mean you can relax with your kids. in a different time maybe but now. there are still freaks everywhere. "
  • Sabrina0222
"It’s is very family friendly, the walking trail is also great. It’s very safe, the school needs more support ( as in the area is growing too fast and they can’t keep up) "
  • Sonita C.
"Red hat parade, movie nights in the park, free lunch for kids in the summertime, car shows, farmers market"
  • Sandra G.
"Plenty of walking trails plus walking along the river and a dog park. Also a community park for everyone including fur babies "
  • Amy A. S. L.
"Close walk to everything you need in a small town. Amazing view of Mt Rainer. Small town activities throughout the year "
  • Jamie P.
"I think that every parent feels really safe in the neighborhood I am currently staying in. Seems very quiet especially during the weekdays in the daytime and and evening hours. The neighborhood children ride bikes in the road even and as a parent you know that the parent must feel safe to allow them to do so. Not much traffic down the streets at all. Even the school district is small and has that home town feel. "
  • Demodawn2000
"It’s near the river and there are a lot of young families. People take pride in their yards and their homes "
  • Avendora623
"I've lived here for six years. we've had neighbors come and go. Only one was rude. and he left pretty quickly. :) everyone is nice and the park is lovely for dogs and kids. Great little skate park as well. "
  • Michelle T.
"Lived in town for 10 years. People are nice and friendly. Everything is in walking distance. Traffic is quite a nightmare sometimes though. "
  • Felipe124_salazar
"Very peaceful and quite. Everything is close by and love how clean the town is. The schools are great for kids "
  • Felipe124_salazar
"Well maintained and very safe community! Love the how friendly and nice the people are and how well we all know each other. "
  • Thermonucfam
"Some folks get a bit cranky if your dog gets out complaining that you are neglectful when this happens. Other than that, many folks walk their dogs around the neighborhood regularly. "
  • Pandababypok
"It's really just an amazing beautiful place to live. things are reasonably priced considering there's literally a million dollar view out of every window."
  • Thermonucfam
"HOA can drive people crazy in our neighborhood, but we generally have no problems. Some neighbors have lived here for 20+years, some people in this town are multi generational. "
  • Sabrina R.
