5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is on a variance at L Thomas Heck. Prior to attending she lacked confidence in class participation and in her abilities overall. She went from wanting to stay home everyday to being excited to go to school. The staff and administration and especially Ms. Walker for granting the variance. This time of year we have many things we share we are thankful for....this school is amazing and so very grateful my daughter is a student there....did I mention she went from failing grades to high honor roll! 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe staff here is very knowledgeable, and it seems like most of the teachers have been teaching for a long time. The staff is very accommodating towards students with special needs. The facility is a mixed bag though. There are parts of the facility that are old and not in good shape, but the newer parts of the facility are phenomenal. As of 2023 I understand that the facility is getting a makeover in some of the older parts, but we'll see. They also have metal detectors at all the main entry points, and I fell like that was a great investment, as it helps maintain safety for all who utilize the campus. However, the metal detectors have made school drop off and pick up a nightmare. Essentially, there is no dropping off right on time, or a little after the bell rings., you're either really early, or really late, no in between.Overall this is a great school, and they do an excellent job of teaching students in a fair and equitable way. "it's not unique. it's quite run down. I drive to other cities to do my shopping more safely. I have packages delivered to family's homes because I don't trust that they won't be stolen. stray dogs are running around. feral cat colonies are out of control."

"THERE'S PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION, BUT I GETS RIDES TO MY APPOINTMENT AND TO THE GROCERY STORE WHICH IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER WE HAVE TARGET, FRY'S,AND NEIGHBORHOOD WALMART THERE'S ALSO A COUPLE OF DOLLAR STORES TOO."

"Heritage Elementary is a great school. My kids have been going there for years now. My oldest son goes to Ironwood High School. Ironwood is a fantastic school. They have so many different programs and clubs for their students. The teaching there is excellent. I got noticed about everything. GO EAGLES!!!"

"Family friendly neighborhood. Great for raising a family and having kids to play with neighbors. Community well maintained and relatively safe. It is far from Scottsdale and Biltmore so commenting to and from is a distance. Not a lot of adult social activities in the area."

"Very diverse population provides insight into different cultures . Most people keep to themselves providing privacy. There are several different architectural designs providing variety. There are many privately owned restaurants as well as big brands so dining options are limitless. "

"My area does not have very good access to a freeway. Both major freeways are miles away. Also, this particular area only has gas stations close as far as shopping, it’s a few miles to a grocery store and about 15 minutes from a larger store, such as Wal Mart or clothing outlets. "
