"The area is calm in a way, and also a lot of close proximity neighbors who are always welcoming! To include the area is prone to having people walk around based on the close lake!"
  • Brooke A
"Sloans Lake, West Colfax is diverse, close to the lake, great food options in Edgewater, breweries walking distance, easily accessible to 25 and 6th to quick get into the mountains. Platte Trail is a stones throw away which quickly routes you to the cherry creek trail. "
  • Trulia User
"Less than 10 minutes away from Where I work and it’s convenient which is why I would like to stay in the same area "
  • Trulia User
"Public transport easily accessible. Across the highway from downtown. Plenty of Lyft scooters and bikes."
  • Trulia User
"I don’t commute to work but traffic never seems to be too bad and there is a light rail stop not too far away. "
  • Trulia User
"Lack of consistent, dedicated space. Dog parks require driving but everyone loves to help socialize. "
  • Trulia User
"No official dog park, but lots of pet friendly owners. Our dog has friends she runs around with. Some of the tall grass has dog droppings that are not cleaned up. "
  • Ddsada d.
"Great parks & playgrounds! Schools are coming around. Kids play together in the open space, ride bikes & it’s very friendly. Nettie Moore & Paco Sanchez parks are lovely. Meow Wolf is coming in 2020. Light rail is nearby which is great for teens. "
  • Anna H.
"Lots of people let their dogs off leash without supervision and they don’t pick up their dog’s poop. "
  • Ashlee F.

"Lots of space by the lake to take your dog on a long walk or around the neighborhood. Most everyone knows their dogs behavior so it is very rare to see any dog misbehavior. "
  • Jakob C.
"Great location near 6th and 25 and close proximity to Sloan’s lake. Investors are putting a lot of money around the area it will be very nice and expensive in a year or two. "
  • Jakob C.
"Up and coming neighborhood. Proximity to Sloan’s lake is great for a run or dog walk and downtown Denver is a 10 minute Uber ride away. I highly recommend the area to anyone looking to live close enough to the city without needing to be directly in it 24/7. "
  • Shannon G.
"The Sloan’s Lake area is beautiful and as a Denver Native, I can say it is one of my favorite places. I recently moved back to the area after finally finding an apartment I loved. Although it’s become quite expensive and nearly unrecognizable, I am happy to say I live here and enjoy the many restaurants, bars, playgrounds (for my nieces), that I can easily walk to. However, do not forget that this location is walking distance to Colfax Ave. where there are still many dangers. Walking, running, etc. alone or even with a partner at night is still not the safest thing to do, regardless of the expensive homes surrounding you. Please, take it from someone who grew up here. Don’t put yourself in danger. Be smart."
  • Amylevinewahlen
"This is a great place to live since it is close to the paco park! Night time after 9 I would not enter the park alone. This neighborhood is still up and coming. I’ve lived here ten years!"
  • Erica
"close to lake and new restaurants. the alamo is also nearby so it makes it easy to have a great weekend all in a few blocks radius "
  • Joshua F.
"You see people walking there dogs here all the time. The lake is a great place to walk around. Traffic moves very slow so you don't have to worry about your pet being struck by an unaware driver "
  • Heathertruhan

"this neighborhood is unique bc there are small pockets where you can surely walk safely and see a lot of people walking their dogs or taking a stroll however venture too far in any direction and you'll find the in un-gentrified pockets still left in the area"
  • Seth L.
"Sloan’s lake is a cool little area to go for a walk, catch a movie or grab a beer. There’s plenty of dining, groceries, bars and entertainment all within easy walking distance."
  • Nicole Z.
