6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a transferee from a different school, and my previous experiences led me to think that this place would be the same as my last experience. I was completely floored by how welcoming everyone was to me. The students are quite kind and helped me feel more accepted than I ever did in my past school. They always helped me with directions, the school system, and what lunches to avoid, haha. The teachers were also nice and understanding, explaining everything in depth and rewinding if someone does not explain something. The principal was great and worked to keep our environment one of safety and contentment. The councilor was helpful, allowing me to pick my electives and letting all students visit her to address any concerns they have. The grounds themselves were out-of-date, but they lent the atmosphere a kind of nostalgic feeling to it, like you're going to school in the 2000's. The education was easy to understand, and there was a lot of variety in culture, in my experience. They also educate us on how to deal with stress and depression, offering support if we ever need it. The school layout is somewhat hard to go through, especially on rainy days, since its usually based on the hallways, but when you walk through it for a while, you get to memorize its layout. The P.E curriculum is good, designed to get a good exercise and help burn some calories, and they also offer Weightlifting as a better alternative if you want a more challenging course. ASB is kind and supportive, and also run many events for the student body, such as dances, spirit weeks, and other themed activities. All in all, a very great experience here, and I would definitely recommend this school for your child(s)!Student Review3y ago8 Reviews - Pacifica High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school does provide a good educational environment for my child. The Sciences, English, and Math are pretty good. There are many clubs and activities for your child to participate in. The parents are pretty involved depending on the clubs. My child was in the NJROTC program who got 2nd in the nation. Their program is very good but you would need to put in alot of time and effort. Just like other sports, you will need to put in the time. If you plan to do this, try not to commit to other sports. As for the Calculus teach, she was able to prep the student for AP during the weekend many weeks before the AP test. Not many teachers would put this much effort to do this.NOTE: DO NOT take any computer science classes at this school. I am a softwar engineer and I had my student take the class and they didnt learn much. The teacher is rude and doesnt understand any coding at all. How can you help the student if you dont understand the stuff you are teaching? The lab is nice, but what is the point when you child is not learning? I spoke to a couple parents and they were NOT fond of this teacher. This teacher doesnt even help your student to prep for AP.. He basically just told them to get a Baron book and practice. NOT Sure why he even here...Parent Review2y ago11 Reviews - Wakeham Elementary School

"Beautiful neighborhood well taken care of and feels so safe to live! I just wish they had more affordable living prices in the area for small families and more income based communities. Other than that it is a very pleasant place to live."

"The part of Garden Grove I live in currently is heavily graffitied and unsafe at night. As someone who works graveyards for a nearby business, I am desperately seeking new living arrangements. I have been flashed at the bus stop and followed by people at night. "
