I’m in high school now, but when I went here it was terrible. There was a lot of fights and bullying and I got bullied a lot. I read many reviews saying that the school doesn’t really do anything to help and I agree with that. I also agree that some teachers are bad and don’t care that much about bullying and fights. In 8th grade I got bullied a lot in my PE class and I told my teacher about it but they didn’t really do anything to help and that really upset me, like I get that bullying is normal and it happens but they should still do something to help. Some of the teachers were nice and helpful but many of them left and there’s new teachers now and they may not be as good I’m not sure. I haven’t been there in 3 years but it was bad back then when I went there but I think it’s worse now from what I’ve heard. Back in November 2023 I heard of a shooting threat and police had to come to the school twice in one week which is insane to me. I can’t even imagine how people were feeling during that time that their life could be in danger, and that’s not something you should ever have to go through. Safety is really not good at this school and the staff needs to do a better job at making sure people feel safe. I know middle schoolers can be immature and cause trouble and that’s normal and the teachers can’t entirely control that, but the staff needs to do better on helping kids and having more consequences, and listening to parents. I’ve heard students are being treated poorly especially the sped students and that’s horrible. If you or your kid is going into middle school next year, I do not recommend this school. It will most likely not benefit them. I recommend Adams middle school because it’s the best one in Brentwood it’s ranked #1 and the reviews are a lot better. I wish I would’ve went there instead.

I'm a parent who has sent three children through Loma Vista, and I have continually been impressed with the teachers at every level, and Mrs. Croy does an amazing job as principal. We feel that learning is prioritized, diversity is actually celebrated (not just in name but in experiences, committees, international nights, etc), and my kids have all been excited to go to school. Every employee from the crossing guards to the administration REALLY cares about our kids. I love how the school does their best to keep families with the same teachers even years later, and we have been so happy with our experience.

My son is a freshman and we are so impressed with how well the transition has gone from middle school. He has had no problems adjusting. He says he really enjoys walking around the beautiful campus. Yes, my 9th grade son said that! We feel that the secret to his easy transition has been because he's involved. There are so many clubs and sports, it's easy to find something!
