6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent that has gone through this school system myself, not much has changed while having my own children enrolled in the district's public school system. Elementary school was a fantastic experience, with caring teachers, but in middle the emphasis is always on the gifted and sports related curriculums. All other students are just a face in the crowd, which is sad to say the least. There are too many fights in the middle school classrooms and teachers do not have the back-up or ability to handle classroom management anymore (for many reasons). The kids rule the classrooms. They are going to make the school day longer, remove study hall open campus and no flexible periods. This change is going to lower grade, and make student emotional state worse. The removal of open campus and study hall is a big thing because most students use that time to do their work, and go to tutoring, but when the remove it student will not be able to do their work, and have free time after school.
