"It’s naturally beautiful and has wildlife. The lake is also gorgeous and fun for wakeboarding, wake surfing etc. "
  • Jessica.bedoya
"Dogs are always welcome in this community. Owners are always watching if any of them seems to be lost to posted in the FP of the community as well "
  • Upayan
"Great place to live. Very safe, and weather is better up here. Fewer food choices than up North or in the city but it’s growing. We love it. "
  • Jessica.bedoya
"Frontyard is a good place to meet with other families. Perfect location with less impact during storms. Not happy with the academic level of Lake Travis "
  • Nick K.
"There is a new Dog park, most things are pet friendly, you will find multiple people walking their dogs at all times"
  • Joshua.osborne27
"I’ve lived here since 2017. It’s grown a lot even since then. We live in a private, small gated neighborhood and it’s wonderful. There are lots of people moving to Lakeway from California and other states changing the vibe and driving prices up significantly. It’s got great pockets and then very large densely populated areas. At this rate the entire city will be much denser and different in the future."
  • Frank B.
"Beautiful, family friendly, awesome views, hilly, quiet, on the water, great schools, and near everything you need."
  • Elisegiles
"Easy commute to 2222. 30 mile speed limit, but generally no heavy traffic en route. Enjoy the neighborhood feel and wildlife sightings ( deer, birds, etc.). "
  • Hotdogit
"Space and a ton of dog walkers. Not a huge amt of golfers so you can walk on the course. Lots of trails as well."
  • Chris M.
"The Lakeway area has great trail systems and dedicated dog parks with free bag stations for pet waste."
  • Gweatherred
"Lakeway is a great neighborhood in the central Texas area. Austin is a close drive away. The hill country is a beautiful area of the state. Lakeway itself is safe and a child friendly community. "
  • Julie R.
"great paths and hiking trails, streets to walk on and a few dog parks. Great vets, boarding and day care and quality local pet food and supply stores. Small dogs and cats cannot be left outside unattended because of hawks, owls and coyotes. "
  • Julie R.
"You can walk your dog all around the streets and hiking trails with streams and a dog park next to the City Park with Lake Travis access. "
  • Mary B.
"If I leave early like 7:00 am traffic is manageable. Any later, it takes 45 minutes to drive 11 miles"
  • Gweatherred
"Great area different age groups. Different house plans. Most all are custom homes. Friendly atmosphere and people. Great schools and well maintained community. Taxes are the only drawback extremely high and for those who have raised children already school taxes are overwhelming high. "
  • Dpond
"Safe and beautiful! All homes are architecturally different. 30 mph streets. Beautiful parks. Close to stores. "
  • Charles W
"Friendly safe secure makes me happy I chose Lakeway for my home over other close by neighborhoods. Always feel proud of the area "
  • Pond
"This area has fabulous parks for families. The LT school system is excellent. Make sure your children are involved in music, arts drama or sports to keep them busy. There is problems with drugs with many children with too much idle time on there hands. "
  • Rachel
"Many Lakeway activities. Movies in the park. Dances at community center ..........................lakeside activities and many parks great place for dogs"
  • DPond
"It’s beautiful, near the lake, great parks everywhere here, gorgeous wildlife and kind neighbors. There’s not one house that’s alike. The police force is good, but almost not needed. Crime rate is super low. But too many people here now! "
  • Gweatherred
"I’m retired so downtown would be at off hours so 25 minutes. Great community friendly people well kept area b"
  • Wendyhalverson
"30 mins to down town, HEB, Target and hospital within 3 miles. LTLISD Schools are outstanding. We have lake access and hike trails within a mile. A great community! "
  • Gweatherred
"Lots of dog owners here in Lakeway. Parks offer dog park as well. Plenty of walking trails in the city. Homeowners are good about dogs barking bother neighbors "
  • Fem5354
"No sidewalks. No street lamps. No daycare. Very few parks. Too much traffic. The neighborhoods are not culturally diverse. The cost of living here is too high primarily because the school system is top rated and therefore, even if you do not have children that are school aged, you are still paying taxes as if you did. "
  • Fem5354
"It is like living in a glass bubble. There are no sidewalks. There are very few over head or street lights. Everything except Whataburger closes by nine o’clock. There are no local movie theaters. The average age is fifty years old. There is no public transportation . There are no bus lines or commuter trains running in through town. There is not enough parking available at the high school.? And of course, most of the high school students are driving their own vehicles because that’s a status symbol here. "
  • Micmudd
"There are no community events except the amenities where people tend to gather and socialize on the weekends. "
  • Lorie B.
"Wildlife is incredible, friendly neighbors, houses are all uniquely designed, many with incredible views of golf course or lake. Lakeway Resort is nearby and great for family in town visiting. "
  • Thuser268
"It’s quaint and quiet yet very family oriented with kids playing outside, people walking their dogs and out for exercise morning and evening. "
  • Kelly S.
"I live and work in this area I live it here we love the area and use the lake and hike / bike trails often This is a safe kid friendly area with lots if outside activities that are fun for all ages I highly recommend this area to everyone considering moving to this area any time soon We have lived here for 12 years and love it "
