What Locals Say about Center City

  • Trulia User
"There are many dogs here and they are all well taken care of and he always pick up after them it’s a good neighborhood although it can’t be somewhat noisy especially at night."

"Easily walkable to many amenities. Restaurants, groceries, movies, bars, small parks. Low crime and pretty quiet for being in the center of things."

"There are some families with children, traditional or otherwise. West Hollywood is a good place for families although one might not think so. Easily walkable and plenty of busses. "

"Living on Crescent Heights Blvd is convenient and provides a home directly on the heartbeat sunset blvd. But Cres Heights is similar to an over crowded Expressway with people driving as if it was a lawless racing strip. Opt away from the main streets and youll be much happier, safer and sidewalks will continue to be lovely respites from the LA car crazed culture. "

"Diverse, friendly community of young and old, singles, couples and families. WALKABLE to grocery stores, services and restaurants in a vibrant, progressive city within a city. Scooter birds make transportation easy, and there are buses if you'd rather not drive. Central to everything in L.A. and close to Laurel Canyon connecting to the Valley."

"I live in the area and have for years now. Lots of traffic flow off of Sunset, but otherwise a very civilized area rich in Hollywood history and with gorgeous 20's-30's palaces mixed with funky fifties garden apartments surrounding pools, LA style. More kids than ever, with Laurel Park in the area and Plummer Park close by. Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and chain drug stores in the immediate area. Cool shops in the rock district due east, and nightlife all over the place. Mostly straight on Sunset, mostly gay on Santa Monica Blvd. although the hets are invading, inevitably. Oh, and the Sundance Cinemas right in the middle of it all. It's mostly WEHO, so very clean and well kept up. Spaulding Square Historic Overlay Zone is due east as well, also very charming, as are the houses above Sunset. "

"You can't beat Hayworth Avenue. It's quiet with gorgeous historic buildings and soaring palms, but a quick walk up to Sunset and you have access to everything you could ever want. When it comes to location, location, location....it simply doesn't get better than this."

"I have worked in the neighborhood with offices in Sunset Plaza for over 10 years & I have seen the area go through a complete transformation especially in the past 7 years! Sunset Plaza is always a fun & iconic location however now it offers so much more to its residence; a variety of shopping, dining, outdoor activities...the best place for singles &/or young couples relocating to LA. It's also one of the best neighborhoods for investment properties because it demands high(er) rents."
