"There’s not enough dog parks however there are lots of trash receptacles to throw away pool while on walks which is very convenient "
  • Ashlee Haiby
"That there is no dog park, it would be really nice. There is wuite a bit of grassy areas spread out so wouldnt need to go too far to let the dog out. Quiet are as well"
  • showme
"Halloween is Big here. Outside of this there’s not a lot happening and all the original locals are moving and there’s more people moving in changing the area and it’s just not desirable. "
  • Wedasway1
"People walk their dogs all the time. You can take them to the river to swim everyone has their dog on a leash when walking"
  • Molly Dolly
"I live right outside the city limits, but am a 15/20 minute drive from downtown seguin. 123 can get congested during morning and after work/school traffic, but that's everywhere. It's very easy to navigate throughout seguin. "
  • Walkeredwards2000
"Lackluster. There is little to no entertainment here. The biggest upside is being close to a variety of other cities. "
  • Michael C. J.
"I like it here no crime and the people are cool I like it because it’s not to big and not to far away from San Antonio and Austin "
  • Krystyn V.
"The community is nice .Seguin has a lot of activities here in town. Each holiday there is a fun inviting events "
  • R.henze
"Stay away from the charter school unless you want your kids to fall behind. Koennecke Elementary and Barnes Middle are the two best public schools. "
  • Bruce E.
"I drive my own vehicle and do not utilize public transportation. Traffic flows smoothly and I have not encountered any traffic issues. "
  • Lionel O.
"very nice and quite place to live great for family too grow everything is clost by great school people are friendly"
  • Ksaunders
"My commute is very short with traffic leading into schools peaking for about a twenty minute stretch. The city is working on updating its underground water pipes, so there is some ongoing construction to avoid. "
  • Ksaunders
"I live in a fairly safe and quiet neighborhood, and I love the historic homes, especially the craftsman ones built before the 1950s."
  • Gloria
"We’ve lived in on this street for nearly 25 years. We’ve watched it change - some good some not so good."
  • Colin N. C.
"Very easy, light traffic. There usually is light to medium traffic in the morning. Afternoons are not very crowded either. The evening is the only time and I would still say there is only medium amount of traffic. "
  • Jlarson1972
"The neighborhood is close knit, populated by community-minded, good hard working Americans. It is quiet, law abiding and very friendly. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else."
  • Britanyclose
"nothing. no one cleans after theirs, its always loud with screaming kids and partying teenagers from college. "
  • aghorncharli
"It’s really quiet. My neighbors are typically very quiet. There are occasionally teens playing the area. "
  • Britanyclose
"no one uses a leash, always roaming free. no owners are with them. it sucks. this place sucks. do not live at the ranch. it's not worth being treated like crap."
  • Stephanie
"It’s a nice place to call ā€œhomeā€. We are grateful to be a part of such a wonderful community. There are many opportunities to connect with city events and gatherings."
  • Scott M.
"Close to the HighSchool, Hospital and shopping centers."
  • Danielle T.
"I really enjoyed living in this neighborhood. It was one of the first neighborhoods in Seguin to participate in the annual Neighborhood Night Out in October. Quiet area with convenient access to downtown and IH-10."
  • wyzyrd1962
"I live here and work at home. I commute to Seguin, San Marcos, New Braunfels, and San Antonio on occasion...all within 20 minutes to an hour. Red Road is a fantastic neighborhood...the kind that is all too rare these days. All the people are down-home friendly, we all help each other out like old time neighbors did 50-60 years ago. LOTS and LOTS of peace and quiet, wildlife, seclusion. If you are addicted to traffic, noise, close social networking, constant stimulation, and mall-hopping this is not your kind of place. If you love nature and want to escape the stress and hassle of big city/urgan sprawl life...BINGO!!! Biggest issue with getting back and forth to Seguin is being careful to miss the deer...we are loaded with them. But learning to enjoy going slower is just part of the charm of this place. There are very few niches like this left where you can build whatever kind of home you like, have plenty of elbow room, and be right smack in the middle of a virgin forest with rolling hills and few roads. I've seen deer, turkeys, hogs, foxes, bobcats, coyotes, and usually get serenaded by great horned owls or whipporwills at night. You can clearly see the Milky Way on clear nights, along with a zillion stars. The Guadalupe River is only about ten miles north, Starcke Park is only 20 minutes and excellent with a huge playground, golf course, tennis and basketball courts, lots of tables right beside the river, fishing permitted, and a Wave Pool for those hot summer dog days. Seguin is not a cultural hot spot, but I've come to appreciate its quaint, humble style and off-the-beaten path feel. Schools are not the highest rating wise, but they offer a more personalized atmosphere and smaller classes. The only real drawback to Red Road and the Capote Hills in general is the isolation when you do need to make a trip to the city for whatever reason. But I've always found living here to more than make up for it."
  • Pete4deb
"We've lived in this area for 16 yrs. A perfect place to raise children. Off the main road. Only a 15 min drive to Walmart, HEB, many restaurants. Rancher, farmer neighbors. Horse lovers dream."
  • Jwp
"I've lived about two blocks from this house for eight years. I really wish it had been available when I bought mine. If I had the money I'd buy it in a heartbeat. One of the prettiest areas in Seguin, very quiet, about a mile to HEB, WalMart, etc. Back yard of this house is wonderful - very large and slopes all the way down to the creek. House does NOT flood - a consideration in this general area."
