6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEverything about this school is below average by far. 95% of the teachers give either work thats too easy to the point we don't learn, or teach very poorly. The other 5% of teachers are decent but the work is still not up to par with other schools in course rigor. You may get good scores in class until you take an AP test where your grades don't matter. This school had potential but has completely ruined itself. Some of the teachers promote skipping classes (particularly gym teachers), which really isn't what you need.Some of the rooms have mold growing in the floors and (from my experience) has been there for at least 3 years. I thought this school would have been good but I was so wrong.The only part of the school that is decent is the vast number of clubs (which 80% of them fall on Thursday).If you live over 40 minutes away don't go to school as it starts at 7:15 once youre junior/senior.Student Review1y ago - Ps 119 Amersfort

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall I feel that great things happening at PS 119. The administration is ahead of the game and making strides to find ways to help the children become better citizens overall. I particularly find it a great place for early childhood. I would not hesitate on sending your child here provided that you are prepared to give them extra academic support at home. Where as the academic climate is not as rigorous as I would like (until the 5th grade), the social climate is a strong one. Better than you will find at the majority of public schools. Biggest concern is that some of the teachers and school support staff in the building need an overhaul. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am so grateful I found this school because it is simply an incredible early education school. The teachers at this school are strong and knowledgeable. They really support the kids' educational journey. They have a joyful community as well. They celebrate all the various holidays with parades and family engagement and the teachers and staff always get involve with the fun! There was a snafu with my daughter's prior school and when I contacted the principal, Ms. Fontanelli, her email led me to believe that this was the school for her. She was so warm and welcoming and let me know if I needed anything that she was simply an email or phone call away and her staff also will be happy to help me. And of course, when I went to register, that was exactly the case.My daughter comes home saying how much she loves school. I wish this school went to 5th grade (it goes from 3K-2nd grade) because I would have transferred my son immediately. If you are looking for a strong academic and fun community school, PS 326 is the one!Parent Review1y ago
