"I’ve been in my house for 18 years. Neighbors look out for each in my surroundings because I look for others. Dog walking and front yards are mostly kept up. The city can’t figure out a great plan for 1100 east but it’s done"
  • Trulia User
"Dog park super close! Everything is walkable. Great neighborhood! We will be in the area for quite some time because we love it so much!"
  • Trulia User
"Best place to live in Salt Lake City. Close to U and downtown and public transit. Lots of cool people in the area. Love this neighborhood!"
  • Trulia User
"This neighborhood is a great walking neighborhood. There are parks, restaurants, grocery stores , shops, veterinarian clinic, salons and even the “humpback roundabout’” that are within walking distance. It is close to downtown, but feels suburban with single family homes and only a few duplexes or small apartment buildings. "
  • Trulia User
"It’s a really nice place to live! There are a lot of young people and families living in the area and it’s very pretty to take walks around."
  • Cheryl M.
"Walk to dog park, walk to neighborhood park, and community garden. Walk to banks, to subway, to trax system, to Rio Grande and Indochine. Walk to pioneer memorial theater, the university campus and their post office. Walk to Kingsbury Hall and to the U of U football stadium. Premier location! "
  • Cheryl M.
"Neighbors walk dogs and visit while chatting. Friendly safe. Convenient to the U of U campus, restaurants, campus P.O., trax, great area. "
  • Cheryl M.
"Great boulevard, wide street. Close to trax. Walk to great restaurants, Pioneer Theater, and Kingsburg Hall. "
  • Jessica
"Older community. Nice grocery stores. Nice parks. Plenty of shopping. Good restaurants. Close hospitals. Costco. "
  • Dbjshields
"It's great living in this area. Everything I need is right around the corner. No need to get on the freeways stuck in rush hour traffic. Neighbors are all wonderful, helpful and easy to talk to."
  • Dbjshields
"We have block parties, July 4th breakfasts, and community service days. We all look out for one another, check in on our elderly, sick and those with disabilities. "
  • Diana S.
"We need more young families to move into the neighborhood. Many nice, caring neighbors, just not enough children."
  • Laine
"Easy place to live with no construction, schools are good and the city is the perfect distance for access without the noise. Gets crowded during university football games. Eclectic, well maintained and comfortable, it’s on the pricey side but it’s worth it and the commute is always opposite of traffic, which makes it a breeze. Lots are generally small but it’s great for a family. Located on a hill above the valley which offers some good views of the city but within 6 minutes of the canyons. Dog parks are nice and there are plenty of trails that are dog friendly, but avoid watershed areas higher up, because the fines are big. "
  • Laine
"It’s the lack of construction and the unique housing and terrain that makes this place pleasant. Not to mention the, concerts at Red Butte garden, the many University activities: sports events concerts, and motorcycle events at the stadium and super easy access to the mountain range and very little traffic jambs. "
  • Alex G.
"Great walk ability and friendly neighborhood. Lots of grassy area for dogs to be able to stop and take a rest."
  • Maeve V.
"It’s a great neighborhood for dogs because there’s a lot of other dogs around. A park is near by and there are plenty of trees for potty breaks. Also everyone looks out for each other’s dogs. If my neighbor is working a late shift I take her dogs out potty for her. "
  • Jacobhorgan1
"there are friendly folks in the neighborhood, I feel safe in this community. the college being nearby probably deters crime a bit."
  • Bethany P.
"My family and I have lived here for over a year and we have not yet heard of our community having a neighborhood special event. We have invited our neighbors over for dinner though. "
  • Pweb
"Downtown so it is a quick and easy commute - 10-15 minutes usually each way. Sometimes I take a scooter"
  • Mendelsonartglass
"Fun environment with great food and great people and fun places to walk or exercise. Lots of things to do for entertainment "
  • Connor H.
"Ive lived in this area and its not the greatest there is a high crime rate and my car is never safe 😣 "
  • Jared
"We are located a mile or less from 4 amazing shopping areas and great parks. Groceries are nearby, and just far enough from the freeway to get around the city easily."
  • Jude R.
"There is a nice mix of students and non-student residents, and the scenery is very nice. Lots of old trees and quaint architecture. "
  • emilyplatts
"Fantastic location close to Farmer's Market, great shopping, excellent dining, parks, rec center, fabulous schools and involved neighbors. This is a tight knit community with a high respect for both young professionals and families. We are diverse and we love the antiquity and history of this beautiful area."
  • Carla
