8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe love Blanton Elementary! Our kids are in the two-way dual language program and it has been impressive seeing them learn Spanish. The teachers and administration care greatly about all the kids and are dedicated to creating a wonderful environment for learning. The school community is very supportive and eager to ensure that our school and students are successful.Parent Review8y ago15 Reviews - Lamar Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is my first year of middle her and my mental health dropped greatly due to pressure and too much homework, there were some great teachers but others were rude to me. kids here often did not get into fights but emotionally I feel the school isn't too welcome. kids there can relentlessly be mean to people and often get away with it. on the flip side, the fine Arts programs are really immersive and even though I don't necessarily enjoy learning, most of the core subject teachers definitely prepare you for the STAAR tests over all this is a mediocre school.Student Review3w ago20 Reviews - Northeast Early College High School

"Wonderview Preschool is an excellent preschool. This neighborhood is filled with families, walking there, dogs, and pushing strollers. It’s just a fun place to be."

"Lots of dogs walking their humans in Windsor park! Sometimes people leave their pet’s poop bags on the side of the road/sidewalk and that’s not cool. Even if the bag says compostable. "

"Dog friendly, I see lots of dog owners walking their pups day and night. It seems like a very dog-friendly neighbourhood."

"7 minutes away from Downton and about 12 minutes away from the domain. I-35 access is only 2 lights away. "

"People like to get out and walk in the afternoons. That is a wonderful plus here. We are close to really goid restaurants here. Excellent pool at beautiful Bartholomew park. "

"There are stray/loose dogs running around, not necessarily aggressive but there’s always one or two out of their spaces."

"I’ve lived here since 1992 and really seen it change. Mueller has added incredible value to Windsor Park. This was one of the first suburbs and UT professors lived there then. It’s very close to downtown, UT, and Hyde Park but also quiet and relaxing."

"Ive lived here 15 years. It’s changed a lot. From older people who raised kids here to new arrivals from out of state. Its well on the way to gentrification "

"Windsor Park is in transition, like a lot of Austin. It’s bordered by some pretty rough areas to the north and east, and Cameron isn’t too charming, but Windsor itself has some nice modest homes and quiet feel. It’s nice to be able to bike into Mueller or across 35 into Hyde Park and the shops available there. Most everything on the east side is accessible without getting on a highway. Little Walnut Creek greenbelt is a great biking and running spot if you’re adventurous. "

"This neighborhood is very loud and there are constantly cops called. Do not move here. Trash always on the ground everywhere"

"Dog owners would love this area. Almost every house has a good size lot/backyard for dogs to play in. There's always a park within walking distance, and there are a couple of designated dog parks."

"It is a dog-friendly neighborhood. Many folks have dogs, and the backyards are a good size. We could use a closer leash-free park since there isn't one close by."

"Very dog-friendly neighborhood. Dog walking rush hour is at about 6 pm. People tend to walk on the wrong side of the street—you should be walking toward the traffic on your side, not with your back to it."

"There are still some undesirable areas on the edges with poverty, drug and alcohol abuse, and halfway houses. But once you get into the pocket of the actual neighborhood, it is shady, quiet, and pleasant."

"Very centrally located and has pretty easy access to freeways/highways 35/183/290, which makes it easy to get around town. It's maybe a 10—15 minute commute into downtown from here, and we're close to the UT campus for students living in the area. Gets a little congested on Manor Road and Springdale Road in the mornings, but not too bad."

"It's right off IH-35. 290 and 183 are also less than a mile from the center, so you have very easy access to highways."

"When my wife and I were looking for a home, neighborhood was very important to us. We settled on Windsor Park/University Hills, because it's close to downtown but still has a small neighborhood feel to it. It's going through some changes/gentrification, with some of the older rundown areas getting redone. It's got great freeway access—the 183/35/290 freeways are all within a couple of minutes. Fairly close to the shops in Mueller, and they are adding a ton more every month. There are a couple of farmers' markets, and local music and community events at Bartholomew Park almost always have a great turnout."

"It's historic! Movies are frequently filmed in this area. The old Mueller airport site is here, and the old radio control tower is still standing. There are also more farmers' markets happening here than anywhere else in the area."

"A lot of great neighborhood parks and places to explore with the kids. A couple of random rough intersections to watch out for where riffraff hangs out. Muller has some good kid-friendly dining spots and a fun community pool with a great kids area. Schools are getting better but are not at the quality that most would like. There are a couple of private school options, and the community has put a focus on the school district to get it improved quickly as new people are moving into the neighborhood."

"The neighborhood is convenient to downtown. It's quiet and safe, even though it can be a little sketchy around the perimeter. We're getting a new H-E-B this summer, so that'll make it more convenient for residents to do food shopping, and it will have a restaurant and live music on Saturdays. Next summer there will be a new pool in Bartholomew park, also something to look forward to. The neighbors association is pretty active, so it's nice to know there are people getting together to improve the neighborhood and advocate for their interests with schools and the local government.
