I was a little nervous going to such a small school, but it has turned out to be my favorite thing about the school. There is a lot of parental involvement and support. We have participated in countless activities and events that the entire community attends. We have really built such a beautiful and uplifting little family there. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is is academically very average as its score shows. There are many different reason why we transferred out of this school. 1) If you want your child to be prepared for high school and have smooth transition to college this is not the school for you.2) If you want your students classroom to be interruption free. This is not the school for you. Some teachers do not have authority over their classrooms. Which causes those who show up to learn, very difficult.3). If you do not want your child to be bullied. This is not the school for you. The culture allows students to dominate others openly.4). If you want your son or daughter to be an individual. This is not the school for you. Your daughter will want to wear boys/men underwear as shorts because the "popular" girls do. Yes, you read that correctly. eithika, PSD, etc. are worn as shorts. I was told they were biker shorts. They were not. Just ask a young lady who attends. They are not, thus far, dress coded. I could not believe my eyes. Fly in front and everything. 5). If your student is any shade of brown. They will be openly bullied unless they possess a very strong personality.6). If your child is shy. They will be traumatized. Your child may or may not tell you. Watch for change in grades and personality.This is just to name a few.There are nice people here but not too many strong ones. Being nice is not what a adolescent needs it's encouragement, love and structure. In my opinion there is not much structure here. "It’s city and rural vibe. The rodeo grounds next to the high school and near an equestrian center make the area horse friendly, with a convenient GA airport minutes away. "

"Used to Live in neighborhood. 1. Numerous acts of vandalism, theft. 2..Area neighbors wildlife preserve. (rattlesnakes,coyotes, skunks) 3. No sidewalks. Loose particle surface on easement. 4. Fast food/1 Italian Restaurant--1 mile, Walmart/Vons--THREE miles. 5. Three county parks within SEVEN miles--pay per use. 6. Grade school within ONE mile. 7Adjacent property--.Multi-family rental of single family house. Adjacent property used to be used as child care center, FORTY vehicles trips/day. Used to have constant commercIal traffic due to illegal business operation in residential neighborhood. 8. Due to #7, vehicles parked in easement. 9 Several beer bars within five miles. 10. Bus route--one mile. 11. Poor. Expectations of neighbors are others should repair easement, rather than basing it on personal responsibility of who's traffic damaged it. (ie; commercial traffic, business usage) 12. Trash truck debris blow out of trucks, those who use trash trucks feel others should pick up trash. NOTE: DESPITE LISTING VERBAGE, IT US A RESIDENTUALLY ZONED AREA, NOT COMMERCIAL, AND COMMERCIAL USAGE IS IN VIOLATION OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE. CHECK WITH SAN DIEGO COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF LAND USE."

"Property abuts wildlife preserve. Coyotes, rattlesnakes and skunks abound. Wildlife loves pets. no sidewalks. El Cajon nearest shopping. 3 county parks in immediate area.Pay for use. Rios Canyon School , year round elementary school. previously used as commercial. residence park in easement. beer bars. Public tranportation 1 mile Community involvement: poor Everyone blames the other for problems. Cleanliness. many storage violations ie:cars boats, RV's."
