Davis High is a great school with great teachers. My son is a senior and has had a great experience. Competition is pretty high as the town (Davis) is a small community with a very large University of California campus, and thus is filled with parents who have advanced degrees and very high academic standards. I suspect academically weaker students will feel this, but on the other hand academically talented students will have the opportunity to excel. If your child is not academically strong (or at least average) they may be best served by other alternatives in Davis (Da Vinci High), a private school, or in nearby high schools.

Tutors are in high demand because students are struggling with lessons provided. Canvas optional so rarely updated and teachers do not honor 504 plans. If you want your child to succeed do not put them in DJUSD unless you are a full time parent, can afford quality tutors and willing to teach your child at home.

My child has been attending NDE for 4 years. All staff have been inclusive, kind and helpful. Curriculum and teaching methods are great and social/emotional support has been a blessing at struggling times. Many fun activities. The only complaint my child has ever had is the food selection, but that is district wide, I think
