About this House

Here is your chance to own a piece of Narberth history on Windsor Avenue. This gem sits in the middle of the 4 original Victorian homes in the heart of Narberth. Full of original character and details, this home has been featured on postcards, in coloring books, and even as Christmas ornaments for sale at the famous Dickens Christmas celebrations in downtown Narberth. It was completely renovated in 2010, brought down to the studs while preserving history, and beautifully redesigned to accommodate any familyâ"(tm)s modern living. Brand-new roof, copper turret, and copper gutters were installed this summer with a 20-year warranty. Enter 121 Windsor by walking up the slate steps from the sidewalk to the recently refurbished wrap-around front porch where one can enjoy whiling away many hours from coffee in the morning to cocktails in the evening greeting neighbors as they pass by. The original front door was refinished when the present owner rehabbed the house. As you enter you will notice hardwood cherry floors throughout the entire house. Inside the entry, the hallway is the original carved newel post at the base of the original stairs. To your left, as you enter is the spacious formal living room with beautiful, custom-built oak pocket doors, deep windowsills, and 9.5ft ceilings. Continue to the formal dining room with built-in window seats a second entrance to the wrap-around porch. This room also boasts another set of custom-built pocket doors that lock if desired and allow for the formal rooms to be closed off. Straight back from the front entryway leads to the kitchen in the heart of the home. With ceiling-height cherry cabinets and a pull-out pantry, there is plenty of storage for any decerning chef. Granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a breakfast bar with custom bar stools round out this gourmet kitchen. The large breakfast/morning/music room spans the width of the house and has 2 built-in window benches and a gas fireplace facing the dining room and kitchen spaces. A spiral staircase provides access to the unique loft space that overlooks the spectacular Great Room. The Great Room has 20-foot ceilings, more built-ins including 2 more window benches with storage underneath, & 12 ft tall bookcases. A wet bar just outside of the powder room makes entertaining a breeze. Just off the great room is the first deck covered with a lovely arbor leading to a fully fenced backyard.

Heading up the original front staircase is a spacious landing on the second floor. The huge primary suite has 3 large, south-facing windows to let in sunshine and an original French door to the small private Juliet balcony. Unwind in front of the gas fireplace with exposed brick surrounded by more built-in bookcases. Owner suite closet has custom features. The large en suite bathroom has double sinks, a large jetted bathtub, and a separate slate shower with 5 luxurious showerheads. There are 2 more bedrooms on this floor, a linen closet, and a hall bath with an additional linen closet. Outside the hall bath is one of the two laundry locations: a closet with an all-in-one washer/dryer. At the end of the second-floor hallway, a beautiful, curved barn door leads to the unique office/loft space that overlooks the Great Room. This space includes the 4th gas fireplace, skylight, and gorgeous built-in shelves that span the walls over to the catwalk extending over the Great Room. Continuing up the main stairs to the third floor is another fabulous space. A large open room with a full bath, wet bar, and another Juliet balcony encompasses the third floor. Saving the best for last: French doors to the large rooftop veranda which gives you a birdâ"(tm)s eye view of the backyard and the Narberth skyline.

You will be 2 blocks from all Narberth has to offer: the train, restaurants, playgrounds, and shops of Narberth. Come and view this house and imagine all the wonderful times you and your family will enjoy living in this piece of history.

"Easy - i am 20-30minutes from most places and 10-15 to some. For a native NYer from Long Island- that is amazing!"
  • Joe D.

  • Brewster f.
"walkable town 4 blocks from house, 16 minutes by train to center city, convenience unmatched in Philadelphia suburbs"
  • Dickganley
"After 20+ years in the area, raising a family, utilizing the schools (public and private are both great), and enjoying the community, it is hard to think of a place with more natural beauty, recreational opportunities, or sheer balance between big city culture (the heart of Philadelphia is ten miles away) and country living (bike/walking path along an 18th century canal, rails to trails path to Valley Forge National Park where George Washing spent the winter with his troops). An hour from ocean or mountains, and 2-3 hours from New York or Washington, DC; plus an international airport, a wealth of colleges, and quaint, local, downtown areas that balance the nearby urban grandeur with a small town atmosphere. World class musuems, cultural events from The Philadelphia Orchestra to One Direction, and everything in between--held both in awe-inspiring indoor venues and magnificent outdoor setting; and sports teams of every size, shape, and variety: Phillies, Sixers, Eagles, Flyers, Philly Soul, Dad Vail Regetta, Army-Navy Football, Philadelphia Marathon, Broad Street Run, Hot Air Balloon Competitions, and county-run, school-based, and travel-team opportunities for kids in every sport imaginable. Art schools, summer camps, international travel programs. You name it, the area has it. Come and enjoy."
