For parents who have children with food allergies - If you’re looking to send your child to prek3, please schedule an appointment with the principal before sending your child! I had spoken to the teacher twice as well as texted her the first day of school about my child’s allergy. Yet on the first day of school she still ignored it, which caused my child to miss multiple days of school. I can’t say it’s all the teachers at South Penn because we only experienced this with the prek3 teacher. When we tried to address the situation she seemed annoyed and did not apologize or take accountability, which is very concerning for kids with food allergies! In return we decided to speak with the principal who seemed to be a bit more professional about things. I’d suggest this specific teacher takes a lesson on child safety and understand the dangers of giving specific food to kids with allergies - it’s a serious situation that shouldn’t be ignored.
