Description

Private furnished room in quiet home in peaceful suburban neighborhood. $900/mo, utilities included, some food included.

Why this room is worth more than cheaper options: It actually is quiet, the neighbours aren't loud and one of the house rules is using headphones for electronic media. It's fully furnished, bed with sheets & pillows, dresser & bedside table, all furniture you need. Utilities included, no need to pay unpredictable amounts or worry that someone else is using too much of something. It's private, your room locks and only you have access. It's pet-free, if you're allergic or just don't like barking you won't have to worry about those things here. Free laundry, no need to go to the laundromat, we provide the machines for free. Kitchen, we provide all the normal kitchen things, and a few extras, and even some food. It's secure, Photo ID required for background check so you know the other tenants are accountable. We're all here looking for folks we'd enjoy sharing a space with. If you smoke, dislike using headphones, have kidos or pets, this listing isn't a match for you but I hope you find one that is for you.

Neighborhood is walkable for exercise, but it's a 30 minute walk to the nearest restaurant & shop. The manager is often able to provide local transportation in his car for $5-10 depending on the time of day and availability. And ride-sharing apps are also a way to get where you need if you don't have a car of your own. Very short drive from Shasta College and Simpson College. Only a 12 minute drive to downtown and all it has to offer, even shorter drive to the mall/groceries/etc.

It's a four bedroom house, you'll have two keys, one to your private room and one to the house. You'll have full access to the laundry room, kitchen, living room, washroom, garage, & back yard. You won't have access to other people's private bedrooms. There are three garage spots, so if all four rooms are occupied one car may have to be in the driveway. All four bedrooms are private and can be locked and unlocked with your key. Please be mindful that others may be sleeping, studying, etc. and use headphones for media (phone, computer, TV, etc) and try to close doors/cabinets gently. It is appreciated. The room does not have a television, if you bring one please make sure it is headphone compatible. For the comfort of fellow tenants no shower radios please. Laundry room with washer and dryer. Please respect the time of fellow tenants and make the machines available in a reasonable time-frame after your cycle is done. Please check pockets for objects before washing. Washroom (shower & toilet) is shared between three guests, Room 1 has a private washroom.

Full kitchen; cabinets & fridge/freezer grocery space, oven, stove, microwave, sink, dishwasher, counter space, & rotating assortment of free food for tenants. Sink cleaned with bleach so when preparing food do not put it directly in sink, use a plate, bowl, or strainer. Large dishwasher that sanitizes dishes for your convenience and health. Easier, cleaner, and more efficient than hand washing. Please rinse things before placing in dishwasher to help keep it clean, thank you. Only put things in the trash or recycling bins if they are inside a bag, manager provides bags if you like. If something gets stuck to the inside of the bins because you didn't use a bag you may be charged $20 for a bin cleaning provided by Trash Panda Bin Cleaning, a local provider. Everything you need for cooking. Everything is (and should be) put away clean from the dishwasher so it never needs to be cleaned before use. If you eat in another room, return all dishes to the kitchen promptly after eating to prevent pests & to maintain access to the kitchen supplies to all tenants. Please help keep the fridge clean by making sure all food is properly sealed & used while still fresh. A large amount of food is provided by the manager, nothing specific is guaranteed but there's plenty of variety. If you're not picky you can have a grocery budget of zero. Utilities are included, you do not pay extra for Internet, water, gas, electricity, or city services.

The manager, Jerome, lives on-site to assist you with anything you need. If you prefer to keep to yourself in your room that's fine, and if you prefer a local friend who's happy to sit and talk that describes him. He's a former teacher and native English speaker. If you need a ride to/from he airport or something from the store and don't want to leave he can probably do that for a little gas money as long as you ask enough in advance that it fits his schedule. Hanyu is the landlord and she does not live in Redding. Flexible lease depending what your needs are. If you want a short-term stay, we can figure that out, if you want to lock in a low price long term, we can figure that out. You will not be asked to sign or pay before meeting the manager and seeing the property.

It's at the very end of a cul-de-sac, so there's never any thru-traffic. No neighborhood is completely silent of course, but this one is pretty peaceful. In my years living here I've yet to hear a party from the neighbors. So if you're looking for a serene place to relax, this room is a good fit for you. We provide tenants with a smoke-free environment. No tobacco inside or out, including cigarettes, cigars, vapes, etc. Tobacco use may result in an additional cleaning fee of up to $600 for a professional cleaning by the local provider Servpro. No pets. No kidos. If you've been looking for a place without those you have found it. Of course if you don't smoke, & don't have kidos or pets, then you cannot possibly incur an extra cleaning fee.

"I lived in this neighborhood for 7 years. The only thing that unique was there is only one-way in & one-way out. So people don’t usually come up here unless they live here or are visiting. Seems to be a safety perk. "

  • Mgardiner75
"Anywhere in Redding is approx 15 minutes. Car thefts are high. Theft in general is high. Beautiful city. We moved here in 1991 and the parks were safe for kids. Now, kids come upon syringes etc. making it unsafe. The homeless problem is horrible as they steal and are at every corner begging for money. I’m so looking forward to leave this city after retirement. Mount Shasta and SHASTA lake are nearby. Mt Lassen is also close by to the East. Beautiful areas for hiking. "
  • Susan W.
"U can walk around with your dog no problem owners use leash an pick up after their dog. People respectful"
  • Wendelyn L. H.
"I don’t know. I don’t own a dog or have any idea what type of neighborhood they need. We do have a dog park nearby "
  • Susan W.
"My truck stolen off my driveway 3 mos after I moved here do I have a bad taste here. I drive to work and have to pass all the homeless in the community park by the library n next to police station lots of fight I can’t go to library. People passed out on sidewalks downtown redding. Why do I pay taxes for police here they dont do much"
  • Lonewolf2kz
"not a place for the Family Herion Addicts Buy and selling freely in the neighborhood. have witnessed people cruising the streets buying proposing the streets to buy from them with out thought of the health and Well-being for the Children. "
  • Thadtreece
"We love the community and neighbors , close to the convention center, so lots of concerts and events close by."
  • Thadtreece
"We are close to the fireworks and kool April nights, concerts, the rodeo. We are close to turtle bay and the sundial bridge, and lots of river trail access."
  • Mgardiner75
"Quiet and well maintained. Partially away from the vagrants who are all over town. Would I recommend Redding to anyone..no, crime is too high, thefts everywhere and u can’t go out at night in some areas of Redding. "
  • Djaimommy
"Quite and peaceful. Neighbors all keep it themselves, but are very friendly. Close to the river trail and beautifully kept neighborhood."
