5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageComing froma magnet school to ashford was a drastic change for my kids. The teachers were kind and loved my kids but there's no challenge for my kids at this school. I never saw homework. It wasn't given. 1 or 2 projects and 1 field trip for only my eldest kids (she told me 2 were canceled because the students were disrespectful to the teachers and the good had to suffer for the bad very often). I as a parent had to deal with my youngest being bullied and also witnessed bullying walking from the school to my home. I've also witnessed on many occasions children almost getting hit by a car on kirkwood going home. For the kids in this school zone, there need to be a cross guard on kirkwood, the parents need to control and walk with there kids and the school need to challenge the students and inforce a strict bullying policy so the kids can be safe at the school and walking home.Parent Review11mo ago - Revere Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt's one of the worst school of HISD wherein the teachers and management staff is ineffective even after complaints..... Never ever admit your kid to this school....Parent Review1mo ago - Westside High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is by far the worse experience that my daughter and myself have experienced. The Deans and Principals are not trust worthy. The Principals do not care about the students well being. My daughter was assaulted on this school premise. We are frustrated, and emotionally and mentally affected by this entire situation. My daughter have attended this school for three years now and this will be her last year. I tried to speak to the Dean, and Principals: I was denied and refused to speak with the Principals or to resolve any issues. I am new to this city and I expected a better example of what this community demonstrates. Bullying and assaulting any child should never be tolerated. I ran to to school numerous times to deal with this bullying situation and no one helped in any kind of way. No one ever asked my child was she okay the day of the assault or when she returned! Parents should be allowed to be heard to gain a resolution. Children should feel safe at school. No child should be bullied, looked over or left behind under any circumstance. To any parent they may be interested in this particular school West Side High please be careful many situations are swept under the rug. The school is big and nice however the Principals, Deans /Staff could improve on how they administrate to their students.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 11710 Southlake Dr #54.
