About this House

Lovely 2BD/1BA classic North Berkeley Craftsman with vintage charm, great natural light, and hardwood floors throughout!

Through the sweet front porch, the formal entryway opens into the light-filled living room with multi-pane windows, views of the front garden, and a decorative fireplace with vintage surround and hearth. A wide arch connects the living room to the spacious, formal dining room, which has original built-in cabinets and overhead lighting.

Down a short hallway, the two bedrooms are sunny and spacious with ample closet space. The updated bathroom is in the hall, separating the two bedrooms, and has retro floor tiles and a shower-over-tub.

Through a butler-style door from the dining room, the charming kitchen has terra-cotta tiled floors, a Wedgewood gas stove, and plenty of cabinet space. The sunny eat-in kitchen is large enough for a dining table and is the perfect place to share a meal with family and friends. On warm nights, open the glass-paneled French door off the dining area to let in some summer air and the sound of bubbling backyard fountains, or even enjoy your meal on the back deck overlooking the rear garden. The shady, terraced backyard space is complete with a charcoal grill, patio table and chairs, small lawn area, hammock, a lemon tree, and 2 soothing garden fountains. (The two small shingle bungalows behind the house are not for rent and will be maintained and very occasionally inhabited by the owners.)

Off-street parking in the driveway. There is clean storage plus a small workshop in the full-size basement underneath the house. The owner pays utilities and will bill the tenant 95% of the monthly PG&E and 90% of the water bill.

Fantastic location! This home is perfectly situated near some of Berkeley's best parks including Indian Rock, Live Oak Park, Tilden Regional Park, and the Berkeley Rose Garden. Plus, enjoy the best of Berkeley's shopping and dining in the nearby Gourmet Ghetto and Solano Ave!

Available July 2nd. Please call or email to make an appointment to visit, and tell us a little about yourselves!

"It's a very safe neighborhood. Cragmont park and remillard park are great for kids. It's beautiful and hilly so you need to be fit to get around. "
  • Cameron T.
"Dog owners would and do love this neighborhood because there isn’t much traffic, there are many exciting animal smells to sniff—and dog walks are a terrific way to meet nice people quickly and easily."
  • Carmelo S.
"A lot of residents have dogs and they walk them regularly. They congregate at Codornices Park across Berkeley Rose Garden"
  • Annabel
"Easy, I drive to West Berkeley and it’s typically about 12 minutes to get to work. Driving in the Berkeley hills always calls for caution as there are people and children out on the streets where there aren’t always proper sidewalks. "
  • Princess O.
"All the wildlife are present - squirrels, cats, deer, turkey to make your dog want to run and chase them away. Rare sightings of coyote in the neighborhood and mid night sounds of wild cats hunting."
  • Princess O.
"Hills, architecture, parks every where, great city views on walks, a sense of community (which can make people too wary), greenery, lots of dog walking at any hour, nature is so close which is fantastic for bird watching (Cal Falcons, Commodores, etc), deer frolicking all the time, turkey can be seen on their strolls, every house a drive way but most are too small for cars to fit. "
  • Carmelo S.
"Great view of the bay. Beautiful sunsets. Deer just walking around. Close to Lake Anza/Tilden Park. "
  • Urworsenightmare2013
"its quiet calm and very lovely and the scenery is very beautiful, 10 min drive from the lookouts where you can see all the stars"
  • Natalie B.
"It is quiet and we have lots of deer visiting in the evenings. The views are spectacular and it feels very safe."
  • Alastair
"Summer Screen in the park, guided walks with the Berkeley Path Wanderers, concerts and lectures at assorted local venues."
  • Cecilia O. E.
"A car is the preferred way to get around. The bus service is not very frequent and walking is possible, but takes time. "
  • Johnny.fruehe
"Dog owners would love the neighborhood. Only down side might be the traffic. There are many parks for dogs to roam. "
  • Suekagancarson
"Lots of dogs getting walked. Happy owners happy dogs. And dogs are well behaved. People usually are as well. "
  • Timothy h.
"It is a lovely place, flowers, great views, walk to shops and restaurants. Goos schools and a good place to raise children. "
  • teala2393939h

"Beautiful area to live and enjoy the climate. Great for families and pets. Several areas to hike, walk, bike. Educated community with several Cal Berkeley Alumni. "
  • tullyfog
"Culturally stimulating. Fine dining and entertainment. Walking distance to one of the finest universities in the world. "
  • Kate k.
"Beautiful, safe neighborhood with stunning views and interesting neighbors. Access to all of the cultural amenities and parks in the Bay Area."
  • jkorchin
"Haven't lived in this neighborhood in years, but often go back for friends and family and am always pleased to visit the area. It's green; the architecture is varied by virtue of the topography; stunning views of the City abound and are perfectly centered as this neighborhood is almost due east of the Golden Gate Bridge, which also plays a big role in the neighborhood's wonderful microclimate."
