Virginia Highland Elementary school has been exposing and using our children to train an AI model without parental consent. I only found out from a social media post that my son confirmed was true that they thought it was acceptable to use an Ai model to teach kindergartners. My son loved learning before he went to VHE but after a few months would cry at the thought of going to school. His teacher and the school admin were wildly uncommunicative and actually accused me of lying at one point over a tech issue. The principal Terry seems to be incapable of admitting a mistake. There were multiple lock downs in just the one year my son attended and each time the school gave us barely any information at all about what was happening or the potential threat to our children. We will never return and have chosen to pull our son out and pay to send him to a nearby public school where they actually involve the parents and take an analog first approach to education instead of hiding the fact that they are selling out our children’s privacy. It is inexcusable that any school would think it’s ok to sell out our children’s privacy without our consent.
