"two great parks to go for walks, including a creek for the dogs to swim in . many garbage piles to eat from. lots of cats to chase. many humans to get petted from "
  • Trulia User
"Good people. I have lived here for 35 years and never had any issues with any of my neighbors. People are quite quite and private here, but generally good."
  • Trulia User
"N/A (currently working from home). When I did commute, it was a 10 minute drive from Strathmore to downtown on an average day with minimal traffic. "
  • Dtharris14
"It's convenient to commute. All highways are no more than five minutes away and I live across the street from a bus station. "
  • Dsilk1294
"nice in certain areas however not a place I would let young children unsupervised outside. close to most stores and take-out. Close to a few good spots for outdoor events"
  • K W.
"Lots of streets and sidewalks to walk dogs. Love it here. Friendly everyone has a dog and walks it. It’s safe "
  • Nbr1momnurse
"dog owners would enjoy the quiet neighborhood many other dog owners inability to walk around a beautiful scenic neighborhood park"
  • aimeelee55
"Generally safe neighborhood park. Daytime usage best. Frequented by many neighbors walking their dogs, jogging, etc. There is a neighborhood watch association. Organized races, concerts, Halloween parade, Strathmore Speaker series, and Saturday morning get togethers are just part of what happens in beautiful Onondaga Park. People in this neighborhood look out for one another’s safety."
  • Nichole S.
"it's a great area to have dogs but there are times where I have seen dog poo because someone didnt come prepared....idk how but even so if your going around the park they have multiple stations so if maybe u didnt have enough u could get it on ur way back or something....just be respectful is all if we all do that it's great for everyone all around!!"
  • Allie D.
"The families here are very nice. In the warmer months there are always people walking or jogging and kids out playing. It’s a very nice area to live. "
  • Jboylan1
"Art on the Porches art sale and neighborhood street fair! Onondaga Park, the centerpiece of the neighborhood, is a gem "
  • aimeelee55
"We’ve lived here 20 years. There is a strong sense of community and many ways to connect to people in the neighborhood. Onondaga Park is a real asset. More needs to be done to keep low income rental properties from multiplying though. There is a little creep towards some undesirable activity as you get to the perimeters of the neighborhood."
  • Mcastle1
"It is a short easy drive to major highways which makes for an easy drive. Most areas are within 10-15 minutes of here with SU and hospitals within 10 minutes. "
  • STEVEN M.
"Strathmore has a suburban feel but still close to Downtown. Great community; walkable to parks and schools."
  • Kirstyn G.
"Everything and everyone in that area is awesome! Friendly people who are neighborly and truly are concerned about their own houses, neighborhood, neighbors. Old architecture is famous people who did it and grew schools. Great part of the city!"
  • Nick R.
"the Southside is a diverse collection of families, offering many opportunities for cultural enrichment"
