1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm a student here and I just wanna say this school really really sucks because not only do they not care about their students but the teachers that work here have no respect for students who have other things to do after school and pile work on the students all the time to the point where the students failing they don't even care about what the students have to stay about it. Another problem is that the people who are constantly smoking in class it's just horrible and stuffStudent Review2y ago9 Reviews - Number 20 Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageP.S.20 would be a happier and healthier environment under different leadership. I’ve witness the principal speak down to the female staff, and mock the children. My family transferred here from NYC, and if it wasn’t for the relationships my children built with their teacher, I would’ve removed them. I highly doubt Mr ileya have children or even likes them in that case. I also get a “hello” when I’m wearing my business suit, on the days I work from home and wear a sweat suit he treats me in accordance to his perception. Other parents feel the same about the lack of leadership on the principals behalf, I even recorded his “ death stare of disgust” when looking at children unaware he’s being watched. I give the school 4 stars due to the teachers.Parent Review4y ago5 Reviews - Ezra L. Nolan No. 40 Middle School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrendous. Lengthy review. TDLR: This school is as bad as they get. Please look the other way when deciding whether or not to send your child to this middle school. Environment- Awful. I am an alumni for 2016-2017's 8th grade class. I didn't spend too much time in this school although. My mom was aware of the toxic environment (police constantly coming to the school, and full on fist fights breaking out for what felt like everyday) I often spent my time home (studying. Of course.) And then eventually moved schools, and then got homeschooled. (Which I feel was far better off.)Academics- Basic, I suppose. I can't exactly remember what was being taught back when I was still at the school, but things didn't really seem quite challenging. Homework was rarely assigned I am pretty sure. Teachers and Students-Students, as aforementioned, were very violent and toxic. Of course, not all of them, never all of them. Although bullying was an IMMENSE problem. One of my best friends suffered from bullying and one day while inside during Recess she told a teacher about the bullying. Absolutely NO action taken against it. Unsurprising.Student Review6y ago4 Reviews - Check out schools near 116 Danforth Ave.

"Greenville unfortunately is the forgotten district of Jersey City because the mayor loves to focus on east district (downtown) and north district (heights). Even the policing is different."

"This neighborhood is nosey and adults don’t know how to mind their business. Constantly watching cameras and making people feel uncomfortable. Always hang outs and cops on every corner. Not a good place to raise children or a peace of mind. "

"Being a dog owner in my neighborhood there's a few dog parks that you can take your dog too. As well as dog daycare centers so if you need a dog sitter or other etc you are looking a great area if you're interested in this area. Very close to schools and public transportation terminals which is a great thing as well, then there's just great housing overall."

"I love it. I’ve lived here my whole life. I went to grammar school and high school in this Greenville area. It has gotten even better throughout the years and it continues to grow and to excel with time. I recommend my Greenville area to raise your family or to just enjoy the area and atmosphere. I’ve lived here for over 30 years and have no reason to move any time soon. "
