About this House

Situated within an enclave of twenty Historic homes, 115 Pinole Street embodies the character and charm that can't be duplicated with today's newer homes. As one of only three remaining Queen Anne homes from the early 1900's, this Historic home also carries the distinction of being one of only seven homes in the development that remain on its original site. These 20 remaining historic homes in Hercules would help to form "Hercules Village" when in the 1980's each of these historic homes were restored in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior's Guidelines for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings, thus preserving a piece of history within Hercules.

As you first set your eyes upon 115 Pinole Street, you will be amazed at the details of this beautiful property. From the welcoming steps leading you to the front porch or the fish scale shingles in the two gable ends that are characteristic with a Queen Anne style home, it's easy to get excited for the rest of this home.

When you begin to enter this home, you can imagine all of the history that has stood the test of time. The detailing within this Queen Anne home is shown early and often with hardwood floors, trim molding, tall baseboards, pocket doors, and spacious ceiling heights. The front living room is set for comfort and space to relax on any given day. With its bay window, natural light shines on this open room making it the perfect setting to enjoy with friends or family. As you move towards the back of the home, you set your eyes on a kitchen that brings old world charm but with the modern conveniences you'd expect with newer homes. Two bedrooms, and full bath are also located on the first floor making it convenient to use the living space as you please.

The second level within the main portion of this masterpiece hosts the Master Bedroom and Bathroom, to give you your own private retreat. Both the master bedroom and bathroom are amplified with natural light from skylights located in these rooms to show that all details have been thought of within this home.

This home would already be considered special if our story ended here, but many great things await as we continue on this home journey. This home not only has the main living space to enjoy, as there is also an additional living space on the ground level of this Queen Anne home. This additional space creates endless possibilities with features such as a separate living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom all accessible by it's own separate entrance.

A magical piece of this Historic home is what you are invited to as you enter the backyard. This area has been created into a masterpiece for entertaining, gardening, playing, or just relaxing as you take in all that this yard has to offer. From off the kitchen, the backyard is a place to enjoy dining with company while taking in the scene of the Bay. The views from the deck just shows how living this close to the San Pablo Bay shoreline is such an amazing feeling. This yard has something for everyone and is the perfect backdrop for a one of a kind home.

As the last few years have shown, it's not very often that one of these special homes becomes available. Here's your chance to own some history in the City of Hercules and make your own memories in this fabulous home!

"Very active Halloween- everyone in town floods our neighborhood. Great recreation area- dog walkers, family bike rides, very close/great access to the Bay Trail. Once a year weโ€™ve had Food trucks on Bayfront, just a block away. We used to have a multicultural festival first week d of June and Fireworks co-hosted by Hercules and Pinole."

  • Kristina M.
"There are several places to take your dog to for walks around Hercules and there is a dog park across from Home Depot and Home Depot is pet-friendly as well."
  • Lcwong586
"Commute is bad when rush hour! Have to leave early to avoid bad traffic! A cop likes to check on early commuters at one stop sign by 5:35am! If you do not stop completely by the stop sign where is still residential , you will get a ticket! The cop is always hiding by the stop sign to catch you! "
  • Mindy N.
"Family oriented... have raised our two daughters in this town and have lived here for 32 years. I used to work the City of Hercules as the Special Event Coordinator creating community events, it was a great job... "
  • Barma81
"None. This neighborhood reminds me of a commuter school. Not that Iโ€™m complaining but I have nothing in common with my neighbors age/profession/income/interests. Only benefit is itโ€™s close to the city and easy fwy access. "
  • Charles S.
"The Refugio Valley path is approximately 3 miles long, has a beautiful scenic area with trees and is dog-friendly."
  • Angelicaf47
"Commute to San Francisco is long with a lot of traffic. But I usually drive to a Bart station to go to SF."
  • Tchukon S.
"Itโ€™s not too expensive and still relatively close to San Francisco. Good place to raise children since the homes are a good sized "
  • Cyhayashida
"Horrible!! I work 12 miles away & it usually takes me 45 minutes to work but an hour & 5 minutes to get home."
  • Luis O.
"very quiet different from other areas around ... seems more calm around here I like it feels safe "
  • Crystal S. L.
"This is where I met my husband and where I am raising my family. I love Hercules. Itโ€™s safe for the most part. "
  • Claudia H.
"Quiet, very quiet. Not a lot of foot traffic. People here live here and not just wondering around...."
  • frankho2000
    "Nice affordable community."
  • lsgm2fw
"It's a pretty place to live and very quite unless your neighbor has a barking dog. Then you need to get the HOA and Humane Society involved and it does take time before anything is resolved. Hercules has no industry except a Luckys, Home Depot, Wells Fargo, Post Office, library and various other smaller shops. You'll need to drive to Richmond (10 minute drive) for the closest Target and movie theatre. Or you can drive out to Concord/Walnut Creek. If you are single, unless you perfer to stay in most of the time, this is NOT an area you want to live in. If you don't mind driving or BARTing to SF every weekend then you'll be okay. Overall, I do like it because it is quite and clean but I seriously miss SF. I am 55 and single and it's the arts I miss the most as well as being able to walk rather than drive where I want to go."
  • Nancy M.
"I am retired but commuted to San Francisco for 22 years from this location. The transportation to San Francisco is excellent especially since Hercules added the Lynx bus which goes none stop to San Francisco. There is also a transit center with buses to BART. There are two parks within the facility with walking paths and a fenced swimming pool. This is a one owner home in a quiet bedroom community. "
