6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFirst of all, please be aware that this school will not inform you if there is a vision/hearing screening done. They allow the Lions Club to screen the kids, I have no idea if they're medically certified to complete any screenings on children. They will not tell you if a screening is coming up or when the screening is completed. They stated it is legal for the school to NOT tell parents of any vision/hearings screenings done. So they are able to screen your child without even notifying you prior or even after a screening is completed. THEY WILL NOT TELL YOU! I only found out about the screenings after I received a letter about their "referral" to see a doctor, but they just completed their annual check up and their vision/hearing with their pediatrician and they passed it both. Second, they will not tell you if your child goes to the health room. You actually have to put in a request to ask the health nurse to call you if your child goes to the health room. I asked why aren't parents notified if their child goes to the health room, she said it's not required to notify parents. Why is this not an automatic notice that whenever a child goes to the health room that it is important for their parent to be notified? Why do I have to request for the nurse to call me when my child goes to the health room?Third, when asked about why my kindergarten, 5 years old, came home with a bruise on his face, why wasn't I notified about what happened and how it happened. I was told he "fell of the swings" if he did, why wasn't I notified that he fell and it left a bruise. I asked if he was at a least seen by a nurse, I was told "he didn't want to go to the nurse" I'm sorry, a 5 year old don't know what they like or don't like, the nurse should've at least check on him, but they failed to do that. When I reached out to the superintendent, she stated, "it is the child's responsibility to report the issue" I then followed up with how is my 5 year old responsible to tell anyone about the issue when in fact he did and I was never notified about what happened, until I had to ask what happened to him. Fourth, this school has no motivation to do better overall. For example, my second grader, one of her spelling words that were "difficult" was the word our. My 4th grader stated that his teacher told his class poetry was too hard so he wasn't going to teach it. It's so horrible that I have to pull them out in the middle of the school year.Parent Review4mo ago2 Reviews - Coupeville High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs someone went to Coupeville and was bullied the administrative staff did nothing. They tried to gaslight me, saying are you sure this is this big of a deal? Are you sure you are actually being bullied while I was actively being body shamed in cyber bullied. The rest of the teachers are great and I love them so much. I’m so grateful for them, but the administrative staff are not the best.Other Review2mo ago9 Reviews - Coupeville Middle School

"People walk their dogs all the time in our neighborhood and there are dog parks nearby. I don’t own a dog myself. "

"There are a lot of dogs, but limited space in the neighborhood to walk them. There are however plenty of parks in walking distance. "

"Lots of dogs. Well behaved. Not a whole lot of private space to run a dog. Sometimes people let their dogs out unattended."

"My neighborhood has great access to public transportation. Peak commute hours can be busy, add an additional 10-15 minutes to get where you want to go if traveling at those times. "

"Dog owners would like the freedom to walk leashed dogs in the area and the fenced yards of most home owners. They would not like the lack of enforcement when a dog is not well cared for or runs rampant in the neighborhood. "

"I live in a lower income neighborhood at my parents home while I look to buy a home. My immediate neighbors are extended family pretty much. They are elderly so I help them sometimes with certain chores. They’ve been our neighbors for as long as I can remember. People speed bad in the neighborhood and are inconsiderate of their music or the neighborhood kids playing outside. There is also a lot of drug use. Lots of traffic for users. They sometimes have drug induced psychotic moments at the bus drop out front of my house. A few weeks back one of the heroin uses who frequents the area nodded out and fell in front of a car. It was sad. The neighbor hood has always been some what questionable, but surrounding neighborhoods are like night and day! Not Nearly the same trivial activity. "

"Downtown has fairs, carnivals and events all year around. In July Oak harbor host boat racing in the Harbor. Christmas is fun the sewer treatment plant they put down town on the beach has Christmas lights on the crane. Most of the junkie homeless folk don’t attend the events and wait till latter to come out. "
