The only problem for me would be the lack of good restaurants in the area. You have to drive downtown for that, but you'd not get much for your money if looking for a home downtown---- so, it's a real toss-up here. But a very lovely area to live in-- and the safest in Sarasota except maybe for Laurel Oaks area which is way too far out and way too stiff (and higher in price)."
