3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school deserves a negative rating for discrimination, prejudice, and bias (favoritism). Social affiliation and personal preference should not determine who is allowed to speak up. Infringing on my basic right of freedom and equality is not acceptable behavior from a public educational institution. They are normalizing censorship. There are other influences motivating how the administration treats students other than their academic or program performance. Preferential treatment is staggering. I sat in a meeting where the majority of parents present were okay with the principal coming in to deliberately verbally attack me, use angry scare tactic to intimidate or imply that I was not welcome, threaten that he could make a decision that would not be best for my child, and push his hand out to make a stop motion directly at me before leaving. All this in response to me asking a question concerning products that were ordered but had not arrived/been delivered to the students. First I asked the teacher for an update, and did not get a response in 10 days so I asked the AP who oversees that program for an update. I and other parents paid for said items. In their defense, most of the parents present did not know I had asked the question so it all went right over their heads. I am trying to follow protocol and use the chain of command. I am waiting to meet with the principal. Hopeful, but not holding my breathe. Will update this comment if anything changes.Parent Review9mo ago7 Reviews - Richardson Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is horrible they pick favorites especially the teachers one of my teachers reset not one but 5 schoology assignments and claimed that I did not do them after I wrote down when they were done and even got help. And last year I was bullied the whole and it was my first year I reported it and they waved it off and threatened to put me another girl in iss for the so called drama we were in. Another girl touched me and some other students Inappropriately and a bunch of us reported it but they did nothing and it was on camera. And at a teacher's parent conference a teacher said that I fell asleep on an assignment on the computer and lied and said it was another assignment but I went to go look and it was just a bad grade. And the assistant went through a bunch of kids phones without permission, I'm talking about messages and other personal things. And the Spanish teacher who is supposed to TEACH us Spanish only gives us work and has us translate it on the computer.Student Review6mo ago20 Reviews - Tom Lea Jr Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUnfortunately teachers in this school are extremely aggressive and verbally and emotionally abusive towards their students. The higher staff such as principals and assistant principals are very neglectful and compulsive liars. They fabricate lies and stories to excuse their horrendous behavior towards students.Parent Review5y ago11 Reviews - Check out schools near 11121 Bear Root St.

"This neighborhood is beautiful. The Franklin Mountains are nearby, great for hiking, walking, and bicycling. There are several beautiful parks for family recreation and dog walking. There’s plenty of options for places to shop and eat. We have a new water park nearby as well. The neighbors are friendly and helpful if needed. "

"Most dog walkers are friendly and respectful picking up after their dogs. The neighborhood works well together when an owners dog gets loose. We have beautiful parks, mountains with great trails for walking. There are dog groomers and pet stores available. So many neighbors have picked up stray dogs, brought them to get checked for a chip so that they can be reunited with their families."

"Lots of people walking dogs. There is the occasional off leash dog or dogs who have gotten out. Multiple people leave their dogs out in their yards so they bark during the night, but that’s more of an El Paso thing."

"great and safe place to live, if you like outdoors for jogging or cycling - streets are safe or go to run trails. The wild life preserve is just around the corner with great views of the Franklin mountain. NE is the best location in town - far enough from all the city and airport noice, and yet convenient for various shopping, hospitals, entertainment. Drive to the west side, or to the east - spend your day there and come home to relax."

"We have a beautiful park next to the mountain and it had a small bike trail and it’s beautiful. If you love the view of the mountains, it’s a beautiful place to relax and take your dog too. "

"My neighbors are wonderful. When my husband deployed they would check on me, offer me help, and bring my kids and I presents for holidays. After five states these were the best neighbors I’ve ever had"
