Transferring my child to Frankston Middle School was the best decision we ever made. She is thriving here because she found other advanced kids like herself and a schoo full of fun, interesting teachers who truly care about her as a person. We highly recommend this school!

I attended this school from K-12. My child currently attends. (Only attended a few years here and should graduate soon) It’s a daily struggle to “undo” the lackadaisical approach the school has to rules and expectations with our child who requires structure and rules. The so-called zap program (zeros aren’t permitted) is a joke. Children aren’t pushed to excel and do their best because there’s always another chance. Call me “old school” and maybe all public schools are this way, but everyone receiving the participation award is just pitiful, nothing earned or no effort required. We receive notes from teachers with misspelled words and incorrect grammar, texts from teachers on Sunday’s and sometimes after 10pm or at 5am. The small town politics is blaring in this small town school system from the top to the bottom. College preparedness is a joke. This site doesn’t lie with its statistics. I’m thankful I was a self motivated, hard worker thus didn’t need that extra push or motivation. I am college educated and successful but I credit my parents not FISD for this. If you’re looking to start a family do your research of the school systems as this should be a vital factor when purchasing a home. Your tax dollars should count for something.

Not a horrible school, but I can't say it was great. My son's teacher very obviously didn't like him very much, which is fine that isn't the problem. The problem is when you're a teacher it doesn't bode well to treat certain students differently than others just because they are from overseas. You don't have to be rude to that student or their parent. It wasn't an isolated incident either. Several staff members seem to buy in to the whole small town politics here in Frankston. I tried moving him to a different class for his and his teachers comfort but I was basically told that it was impossible when I know very well it wasn't. I didn't ask for an overnight transition but for possibly one after Christmas break about two weeks before Christmas break. It wouldn't have been impossible at all. But eh I'm just glad it's over now.
