5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHello all!! I'm a fellow graduate of Denton High School (Class of 2012) and I was a member of the Pride of Bronco Country marching band. There is a lot I must share so I will come right to the point. Some of my best times were spent as a member of the POBC. My best moments were all of the following: The fall football games and the shenanigans us students involved ourselves in; playing in the stands/coliseums; playing on the football fields; playing in rehearsals off of the field at DISD Coliseum; marching rehearsals at the school before and during game days; dress rehearsals; spring concerts; UIL concerts and sightreading; UIL marching contests; travels on the road from Denton home base to wherever we played that week; all the towns we visited in all four years of playing; most especially was all the parents and peers and teachers that made this experience so wholesome. The not-so-great-moments has been the following: Lack of academic support for alumni or graduates (then and now); lack of concern from staff and instructors for alumni or graduates (then and now); lack of any alumni outreach or functions geared toward having members return or unite. This comes from a recent experience made to visit my old instructors at the school. An appointment was needed to see them prior to making the visit (to which I fully cooperated and understood this policy) but once a phone call was placed to both instructors by myself and the staff in the front office, neither instructor picked up my call. Even after having been told to kindly leave the premises (to which I did) and after leaving a message to them, neither instructor called back. As silly as this may sound this was heartbreaking to me for someone with autism, and I do not wish to be a bother. I'm just not very impressed with the level of service and lack of quality of care that was not provided. I'd very much wish that any prior visits to this school be dealt with in a better manner, for me and for all who plan a visit.Other Review9mo ago12 Reviews - Borman Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is such a wonderful school with so many spectacular and caring teachers/staff. Our daughter has absolutely THRIVED in this school. She comes home everyday so happy to tell me all about what she's learned, and all the new friends she's made (even outside of her class). We are so thankful to all of Borman's staff, specifically Mrs. Hoff, for guiding our daughter to a brighter and kinder future. Thank you!!!Parent Review1y ago2 Reviews - Calhoun Middle School

"Its a college town, I wouldn’t say its the most family forward, its not Frisco by any means. Areas near the downtown are walkable. The square is very family friendly. "

"All of the parades in the Denton square. Christmas, Halloween, Easter, and many film related ones. Very cool stuff and I hope we do that more. Also Denton is where I met the love of my life, "

"Most people do not clean up after their dogs, but lots of stray dogs and wild cats. Other than that it’s very pet friendly "

"We live in a north Denton HOA subdivision . For the most part we are satisfied with our home purchase 4 years ago. Denton feels very safe and there is a variety in eating establishments, entertainment, shopping and more!"

"The community at times has issues with stray vehicles coming in and out of the neighborhood at high speeds. But other then that which has decreased immensely in the past months the neighborhood is a nice and quiet community for a growing/retiring family."

"the community events that make this place spacial are holiday events such as the day of the dead and some others that relate to the diversity of this beautiful town. The tranquility and humanity of the people are very precious, especially when they all gather together. The square of denton organizes magnificent events that are curated by the owners of every business located in denton. I really recommend denton and its traditions to all people, especially to students that come from different states of the USA, but also from other countries. There are many restaurants, ice cream places, bars, and warming coffee shops that make people feel at home. I lived here for two years during my time at UNT, and I really had so much fun in the town with my friends and classmates. It is very easy to find houses and apartments to stay living peacefully in denton tx. All these characteristics make southeast denton very special."

"There’s no sidewalks and there’s minimal lighting. There’s also a lot of stickers in the grass that get stuck in my dogs feet. It’s nice though that it’s quiet and everyone is friendly around the neighborhood when they see you. "

"The people are definitely genuinely nice. Good churches. Some recent crime however. It’s not the worst place on earth but being a college town (I suppose that’s the reason) there’s been poor service at many restaurants and fast food establishments. "
