4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAfter the past principal left, chaos broke loose when the new principal came in. The new rules are outrageous, but when I was in school, the older set of rules were ok. The students smoke and come to school high. Overall now it’s not a good school. Hopefully things get better some day.Other Review4mo ago - Oakwood Primary Center

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOakwood is the primary (k-2) for this address. Countrywood is the other primary center. All of the South Huntington School District schools are excellent with excellent, progressive teachers. Some parents may be angry with some of the administrators or teachers, so they will give this district a low grade.... do not pay attention to those low grades.Parent Review2y ago - Walt Whitman High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhitman has many opportunities for all the students that attend. No matter their socio-economic background. The teachers here are some of the best in New York. They are compassionate and their classes are well structured. South Huntington has a very nice community.Student Review4y ago - Check out schools near 11 Sheppard Ln.

"A quiet, safe neighborhood with a good mix of young families and older people who watched their own kids grow up here. Flat, wide streets perfect for bike riding and walks with neighbors and pets. It’s convenient to highways, town, train station and schools but remains tucked away and private. A really nice place to live."

The local fire department drives through the neighborhood the week before Christmas with Santa to bring holiday cheer to the residents. The people living here are quite friendly, saying hello and stopping to chat even with new residents. It’s a really lovely, quiet place to live that’s conveniently located and family-friendly."

"I was born and raised in Huntington Station! Now I may not like the area too much as it is changing rapidly and we had to install an alarm system but I feel our block is safe and I love our neighbors! At least most of them. Some of the neighbors on our block down attend to their houses and keep them in such a disarray that it was really embarrassing! I wish I could get their act together and realize that it really does affect all of us"

"I've lived in this neighborhood for over 11years and have enjoyed it. It's a harworking class community that is in the center of a lot of transit options and 5 mins from downtown Huntington with all that has to offer . It's an up and coming area that's still relatively affordable for the region . I would reccomend living or renting here ."
