Description
This property is no longer available to rent or to buy. This description is from April 26, 2023
Licensed Vacation Rentals are increasingly difficult to come by in this market, especially of homes this size! This isn't your standard Big Island home, with over 3,500 square feet under roof, a large two car garage, and extra large lanais on both floors, this home is the ultimate vacation rental destination, and a fantastic investment opportunity. This is an active vacation rental, that can be sold completely turn key, including furnishings, future bookings, and a local cleaning crew that may want to stay on with the new owners. The home sits on 2 cleared, level acres, and is surrounded on both sides by lush jungle, offering privacy to you or your travelers. The layout of this home just makes sense. The bedrooms are all spacious and have privacy, there are three separate interior living areas, an informal and formal dining area, two large lanais, an open layout kitchen, and even a playroom area! The main suite has a large private bathroom, and there is an additional bathroom on each level. The current owners have put a lot of time, attention, and money into upgrading this home and making it a high quality vacation rental, including exterior painting, replacing lanai railings, cosmetic upgrades, and decorating with high quality furnishings. Hawaii County Vacation Rental Legislation only allows residential homes that were already granted STVR permits to operate legally. There is no method of licensing new residential homes outside of specific zoning, making this a rare opportunity. There is an annual renewal fee of $250, and the permits run with the land. Financials are available to prospective buyers that can provide proof of funds or a valid pre-qualification letter.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy concern is the bullying, especially by other students as well as unqualified teachers and aides who are not equipped to properly handle the special needs student.I served as a school crossing guard for eight years after I retired, and it was always the special needs child that was made fun of, and bullied. Schools need to protect these special students. It can't happen a minute too soon.Wilma LewisI hope this is at the top of the agenda.Other Review8y ago - Mountain View Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile I am grateful to have graduated from high school, I can't say I'm proud to have graduated from this one. My experience at Keaau High involved frequent exposure to schoolyard brawls, administrative apathy, and laughable courses.I took a woodworks class in which the teacher was so lenient that we spent most of the time cleaning the woodshop, and I learned nothing from that class. I once got harassed by that class' students so severely that I transferred to an art class.I remember how defiant students smeared the bathroom walls with graffiti, and I can't recall the school ever removing the unsightly "art." Not to mention that the school cranked the AC to an intensely high level.I liked a few teachers at that school, a couple of whom I still contact from time to time. But most teachers at the time were either too ineffective or too indifferent for me to remember fondly.Primarily, I felt like Keaau High didn't challenge its students enough and didn't do enough to allow students to be more pro-social.Given that my experience was back in the 00s, a lot has likely changed. I sure hope so, because I wouldn't want a child going to that school if it is still anything like it was back then!Parent Review1y ago - Ke Kula O Ehunuikaimalino
