Description

This apartment is a very nice, relatively energy-efficient 1 bedroom apartment that is next to our workshop at the end of the driveway behind our house. It is perfect for a single person and it is very quiet. The driveway goes right by our bedroom, so we want a quiet renter!! No big parties, and minimal visitors are required. If you can't deal with that, please do not apply. Another reason we prefer one quiet person, is because we have security cameras down the driveway and across the back in front of the apartment. We don't want people routinely walking down the driveway late at night, waking us up with notifications.

It is 550 square feet, one large living/dining area, one bathroom with ceramic tile floor and a very large kitchen also with a ceramic tile floor. It is large enough that you could put a dining table in front of the windows. In front of the apartment is our nursery with lots of plants and flowers to look at. We have a lot of milkweed plants which draw butterflies, so we have Monarch and Cloudless Sulpher butterflies fluttering around all the time.

The apartment is in the Murray Hill prime area, 3 blocks west of Edgewood, in a neighborhood that is quiet and does not have much crime. In the 20+ years we have lived here, we have had no issues with crime. The neighborhood has lots and lots of trees, and sidewalks, which make it great for walking or biking. There is a neighborhood park within two blocks of our house. The apartment is secure, as we have a lot of security lighting down the driveway in addition to the cameras and in the back adjacent to the apartment. There is one parking spot available in front of our house for tenant parking.

The apartment is very energy-efficient due to a very good, efficient window heat/cool unit and concrete block building. There are also new energy-efficient windows in the apartment. We also have radiator heaters available for supplemental heat in the winter.

There is a $30 water fee required each month. Available March 1st after receiving 1st months rent and deposit and approval of application through Zillow. Please contact to see the apartment, but please only call between 9am and 7pm.

You must switch JEA power to your name prior to moving in. We require an application through Zillow, which gives us background, credit, eviction and criminal history. Your credit will be an important factor in renting to you.

Use of our washer/dryer is available for $25/mo for 1 person. We also charge a $25/mo fee for water usage in the apartment for 1 person. We can provide Comcast cable and wireless internet access through our router for $80/month. If you stream, internet only is available for $40/month. Cable access currently includes Prime, Netflix and Max access, although that can change in the future (pay-per-view is not allowed!).

A deposit of the same amount as the rent is required to hold the apartment .

Smoking is not allowed inside the apartment.

  • Ladychaney13
"The original Dreamette Ice Cream Shop that opened in 1948. Still cash only, but they are never hurting for business. A great gem that brings this little community together."
  • Christopher M.
"Murray Hill is undergoing what some call a "Gentrification" process. Many of these lovely older homes are being bought, renovated and resold to more affluent (okay, usually caucasian) people who are not quite able to buy in Riverside or Avondale. The result is that more businesses are opening which, in turn, brings an influx of people from all social strata. Of course, it still has a way to go before it can compete with the likes of Avondale or Five Points...but just give it time! Yes, there are definitely areas and sometimes just blocks that one should avoid, but on the whole, the neighborhood has a good "Feel" to it and a fairly strong sense of community. Right now is a good time to move to Murray Hill because, from observing the measurable current trends, housing prices are going to rise steadily for the next few years."
  • Daniel A.
"Not a good neighborhood for children. A lot of dogs. Not many places for them to play not a lot of places close by just for children. Usually see them walking in the street. A lot of people walk and it could be dangerous. Also not a lot of fenced in houses "
