I currents have two kids attending SES. My oldest transitioned from Birth-to-Three into the half day pre-K program for continued services with a developmental delay in speech. The transition was smooth, his IEP was clear and communication with all members of his IEP team was outstanding. They monitored him as he transitioned out of special education to ensure that no further assistance was needed and monitored his progress. He’s now in first grade and thriving in all academic areas and loves being in school. My youngest is in the full day Pre-K program and has learned so much over the past two years, both academically and socially. The teachers and staff are very attentive of the children and their needs. Communication is also highly prioritized by the school administration and teachers, parents are always kept up to date and it is very easy to communicate with teachers. Overall have had a great experience with SES and its community.

Hey Family’s who are thinking about going to this school this is a former student of Somers public schools. All throughout my career since I started in middle school it’s been a horrible ride. Yes I did a lot of bad stuff but all of it stemmed from the school mistreating me and believing everything a student has to say sincerely because I had anger issues in the past. In my high school career a sophomore would rub my back, inner thigh, and all on my leg. I tried to report this to the school and police about this incident and they have yet to even give me or my family any updates. If you’re thinking about sending your kid here don’t. Yes the staff is pretty good and the counselors are excellent but that does not make up for the fact of how much I’ve seen kids get away with. Do yourself a favor and don’t send them too any of the SPS district it will destroy your kids mental health and the learning environment is even worse.

Most of the teachers do an excellent job. The administration is abysmal, though, and show no ability to lead their school. It's obvious the principal doesn't care about his students when he even plagiarizes a letter to students about protesting recent gun violence in schools. The bad administration runs through the whole district like a nigh incurable virus.
