"My neighborhood is quiet and secluded. We know our neighbors. We would not hesitate to help each other if needed. We respect each other’s privacy and property. "
  • Robert
"Car only for commute. No public transportation available. Good centralized location for going to a variety of places. "
  • Eddiemdminot
"Very low crime, schools are good, neighbors are friendly, grocery shopping is good...but anything else you need to go to Roanoke"
  • John L.
"I live in the first parcel of the seven Cliff Club parcels. Cliff Club is an HOA along VA SR-116 (opposite Windy Gap Estates and Belden Woods, which are along Windridge Parkway). All parcels have multi-mile views, and are atypical of Franklin County, in that they are only 15 minutes from Roanke City Market Square, and less than 35 minutes from nearly ALL Roanoke Valley - Smith Mountain Lake localities and services, including both hospitals, both shopping malls, the international airport, and towns of Rocky Mount, Vinton, Bridgewater (at SML), Hardy (at Hardy Ford on SML), Bonsack, and Salem, Blue ridge views at elevation >1700 ft, four miles due south of the Blue Ridge Parkway."
  • John L.
"Windy Gap location is unique in its mountain views, and very close access to Roanoke City amenities and workplaces, as well as to Smith Mountain Lake entertainment and sports."
  • Heidi O.
"Waterfront living with amenities only 10 minutes away! Close to Roanoke, VA."
  • Edna J.
"This was the first community I lived in when moving to SW Virginia. Love the welcoming committee that greets you with gifts and smiles when you first move in to Walnut Run. Love the annual community 4th of July Parade, love all the community activities not just in Walnut Run (and there are plenty) but all over Smith Mountain Lake Virginia. This neighborhood is a great community to walk, run or drive your golf cart down to the beautiful community marina with it's own boat launch and picnic area. In perfect proximity to Roanoke, Westlake & Rocky Mount by car and convenient to all lake amenities by boat too! Also generally less trafficked area of the lake so it's perfect for skiing, tubing and kayaking too! "
