8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am neither a parent nor grandparent to a child at Cherrydale Primary School. I am a retired Middle School teacher from Southern California that volunteers at Cherrydale because I can. For the past two years, I have assisted teachers in multiple Kindergarten through Third grade classes. I am impressed with the classroom management of those teachers I have the privilege to assist, the inclusiveness of all students and their individual learning abilities, as well as the creative teaching methodologies used to promote learning. Student's are encouraged to learn. The support staff/paras are an integral part of the learning process. Students are referred to as "friends" creating a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment. The students, for the most part, are happy and glad to be at school. Unfortunately all schools (public or private) will have issue; however, I have witnessed positive methods of addressing these issue. If I had a child or grandchild interested in attending Cherrydale Primary, I would not have any reservations.Other Review2y ago19 Reviews - Pioneer Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has been a terrible experience. The principal has been non existent. Kids run rampant through the hallways every day, there are angry students that threaten the staff...every. single.day. It is a threatening environment and there is no one to watch out for everyone.Other Review2y ago21 Reviews - Steilacoom High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSchool is not very supportive when a student/family needed help. Instead of finding solutions for the problem/issue with the student, the school can only say no to everything. It's not a very academic driven school even they do offer some AP classes, but most high schools offer AP courses anyway. School mostly likey focuses on sports and don't even recognize any academic successes. Before we choose Steilacoom High School, we ignored the online negative reviews about the school and hoped for the best, but now, we are very disappointed that we picked it. Not a very impressive place at all.Parent Review2mo ago17 Reviews - Check out schools near 106th Ave E.

"Not kid friendly and be prepared for anything including your cars and where you park them. Police don’t come as quick as they can, there’s barely security cars patrolling the area, apartment complexes are not as posted if you were to look to rent around here. ALWAYS look at reviews and what people say about the area you are trying to move to."

"It’s a neighborhood filled with retirement folks. There’s a nearby golf course. There’s not a lot of children in the neighborhood that I’ve seen but there are some very close schools that aren’t too bad. "

"it's not too crowded. people are mostly friendly. these neighborhoods haven't become so over populated like some of the surrounding areas. It's pretty quiet out here for the most part. There are plenty of things to do around here. "

"There aren’t sidewalks for kids to walk safely on the sides of the roads so its good to implement a sense of alertness (although most drivers are very cautious and drive below the speed limit)"

"Close to family, stores and school. Some areas are quiet and some are not. But the area I’m in is quiet and my neighbors are ok. Whenever I need to get coffee there’s a coffee shop on the way to school and work. American Lake is close by as well so I am able to take my nephews and nieces to swim and bbq. "

"All by personal vehicle although I’d prefer public transit; it’s just too far of a walk for a limited route. A bit far from the freeway so if you don’t work nearby, plan to add about 10-15 min just getting to I-5"

"We haven’t lived here long enough to have seen a lot of community events but the neighbors are all very nice and look out for each other. The streets are relatively quiet and, although we do have the occasional speeder, there usually is not much traffic with lots of sidewalks."

"High traffic during school hours but easy to get through other wise. Area isn’t bad at all to be honest and it’s very pretty during the summer time. The best parks are all on the school grounds but there are city park few in between. Honestly love it over here."

"Nice, quiet, and beautiful. Having the community college down the street makes it helpful to engage with the community. There’s alway something going on. There are plenty of churches for volunteer work. Churches also provide many community events during holidays. Overall, the community is supportive and they keep to themselves. "
