8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNew Trier high school is full of students who bully others relentlessly. The administration sweeps all sorts of problems under the rugs. They really only care about students who are athletes and parents who donate money. Many move here because of the schools. Our family can’t wait to leave because of how awful the administration and teachers have treated my children.Parent Review1mo ago15 Reviews - New Trier Township H S Northfield

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHms has held up for a while and is a great school! The teachers are very understanding, caring supportive, and fun while also knowing how to teach the class in an understanding way. Some of the teachers there have been there for 20 years and know what they are doing. They are very smart. Now being more general, Highcrest has a good schedule, late start at 8:50 to let kids sleep in more, and are very strict in a good way about keeping the school safe and a good environment. The rooms are cozy, to fit each class the way they need it to be. There’s a fair amount of learning and homework and it’s stuff that is vital to the future. Not only is it prepared for students well, but it is easy to have good connections to the teachers and qualities of the school that make it an almost perfect learning environment, especially house 2. I would definitely recommend this school for your kids.Other Review1y ago7 Reviews - Central Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is not good here. The better reviews were a decade old, the school has a bad air conditioning problem and im always falling behind, sweating, and getting picked on. Work on your school because I dislike it.Student Review1y ago15 Reviews - Check out schools near 1059 Linden Ave.

"Easy to commute to downtown via Metra. Not always easy to find parking at Metra after 7:15. A lot of people walk. Possible to drive downtown but takes up to 90 minutes in morning rush. "

"Clean & wide sidewalks, many parks, fenced in dog beach plus another dog park. Many people own dogs & walk them several times a day. "

"It’s an amazing place to raise a family. Clean. Safe. Great schools. Close to the lake. Close to Chicago but far enough away to have a small town community feel. "

"Having a CTA station within a mile from our house makes the commute to Chicago doable. Depending on the day driving to and from the city during rush hour using Lakeshore or 94 is a hassle..."

"Certain parks are closed to dogs, but overall this is a dog friendly neighborhood. Also most of the parks have a poop bag station."

"Great. All back roads to NU. never have to get on the free way. Only mild back UPS on Greenbay avenue during rush hour. There are lots of schools along the way which can slow you down due to buses and speed zones but that is the least of my worries "

"There are plenty of sidewalks and parks in the area. The only problem is there are no legal off leash parks within walking distance. "

"I have lived on and off in Wilmette for 30+ years. Grew up here. Eventually moved back here to raise my own family. Its one of the safest places in the country. The schools are excellent. The parks are beautiful, clean and have updated equipment. The Park District, With all that it has to offer for kids and adults, is incredible. The people are actively involved throughout the neighborhood. There are a few new dining and nightlife venues that are helping to make Wilmette all inclusive. Access to a great pool facility and one of the best beaches on the North shore just make it for this area. I highly recommend Wilmette to any young couple getting started, to anyone wanting to raise a family and to those looking to finish out their lives filled with quiet beauty in a safe place."

"Have lived here for 10 years. The schools are superb and the people are like people anywhere. Some are nice and some are snotty but you can ignore them. Its great for the things that matter. Traffic getting into Chicago is usually bad but the Metra train is great."

"Walking distance to everything - CTA, Metra, Parks, Beach, shopping in Wilmette and Evanston Central St. area. And a short drive to Sheridan Road/LSD and i-94.Phenomenal for families of all ages with nationally recognized and award winning schools. A fantastic and safe neighborhood and a hidden gem that borders Evanston. If there's a house that's within your budget range, make an offer - you will not be disappointed. "

"I used to live in this community years ago and loved every day. There are two malls within walking distance. A couple of bus lines that can take you the the downtown train. Excellent expressway access going both north or south. The Park district is right across the street with an amazing Gym, child care and much, much more. LOVE Wilmette, and this area of it."
