4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averageformer southern student and, after going to college originally for education, though finding myself in another field entirely after a few years, I can say that most people don't realize how lucky they are to attend a school like Southern - with amazing opportunities for all types of extra curriculars, budgeting to accommodate students desires both in and outside of the classroom, and a pay structure to retain talented teachers. Especially, given the size of the community Southern supports they really do a good job of making students feel more then a number (I graduated with nearly 1000 students so I can attest to this). Sure, there are going to be some teachers that are better than others (any school or university has this issue) but if students feel they were not given the chance to be extremely successful at southern they just did not take advantage of all the school system has to offer.Other Review1y ago - Southern Reg Middle School

We are so glad we did the previous middle was a “great” school that didn’t live up to its review unless your student fit the mold. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe transferred to this town in 5th grade. The two teacher method and acting like its middle school for 10 year old children doesnt work well. Very dissatisfied with this school after hearing how great it was supposed to be. Grading is worse than what my highschool other child has. Teacher rather give poor grades than teach and help my child do well. Until this transfer, he got straight A s and a B . Now he gets Cs? The GreatSchool rating was equal on where he transferred from. "its comfortable, crime rate is low. great place to raise a family but the cost of living here is very high. people are friendly. streets are clean. parks and lakes are beautiful. commuting is terrible. we have to pay for shopping bags at grocery stores. sometimes you have to go to Drs. in far away locations because most the Drs here are private Drs."
