7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy school experience as a parent had a less-than-auspicious start. If the school employs a teacher who yells and makes kids cry in class. It's a problem, especially with the presence of a male teacher who has a history of yelling at students without consequence. Using this tactic in the classroom is not ideal. If a teacher can't maintain control and resorts to yelling, they should think about finding a new profession. And the principle should not remain complacent. Terminate the teacher's employment.Parent Review4mo ago - Forest Dale Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAvoid this school if you are a person of color, mixed or an out-of-state transplant. Avoid Carmel as well. It feels like going back in time. Racism and bullying are terrible and not handled properly. Incidents are frequent. Microagressions are not only tolerated, but normalized. They protect their own. Students and teachers use foul language in the classroom. As a result of this environment, students' grades suffer and they are miserable. It all comes down to leadership. Or a lack thereof. Common values such as respect, kindness, curiosity, community, tolerance and respecting differences do not exist here. Staff and students are very cliquish. Teachers only teach to the test. Students do not learn what they need to become successful, independent thinkers. There is more to a school than it's rating. This school district is overrated and you can find much better programs in other school districts or private/magnet schools. There are also much nicer places to live outside of Carmel.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 10405 Ethel St #B.

"With trails to the Monon just feet way this is a great place to just go for a walk - If shopping is your thing, Carmel's downtown and both Castleton and the Fashion Malls are just a few miles away. This is a very Safe area - "

"One of the top school systems in the nation. Minutes away from the interstate. Minutes away from shopping in Nora, Carmel, Fashion Mall/Keystone at the Crossing, Castleton. Right off of the Monon. Extremely quiet neighborhood with very low crime and very fast police response (when I lock my keys in the car). Lots of joggers and people walking their dogs. Very friendly neighbors. Millions dollar community center with trails, fitness center, basketball court, skating rink, fitness/dance classes and water parks just a bike ride away. Extremely low taxes."
