"Keep your kids busy in activities. Nothing to do as a teen so they make up their own fun....i.e. parties in soy bean fields or on the beach. "

"It’s an old country family beach with beautiful beach and clean, well kept homes. Quite during the winter with a well attended community church. "
  • Brent S.
"I live and work on the Holden Beach barrier island. Have 30 years experience on Holden. I am happy my three boys had the opportunity to experience the island and it's beaches, canals, salt marshes, as well as the ICW and the Shallotte & Lockwood Folly Rivers. Now that the boys have their own lives, it is a really good fit for my wife & I. It is also a place that will continue to draw our boys , and their families, back for regular visits. "
  • Anne A.
"Holden Beach Island is a low density community, family oriented, and very friendly. There are no high rise buildings and there is low traffic. The high density cities of Wilmington, NC, and Myrtle Beach, SC, are 40 minutes driving with airports located in both cities. Summer density grows with the vacation home rentals, but there are never so many people that traffic doesn't move. Even during peak time, there is always room for your blankets on the beack to soak up the sun! Holden Beach is a santuary to birds and turtles. The Intracoastal waterway is an easy boating route to interesting villages such as Calabash, Little River (SC), and Southport. "
