My son’s kindergarten teach is phenomenal. They really need to figure out their carpool situation. I see them dragging kids and keeping them sitting out in the hot sun constantly, and the staff in charge are constantly yelling at the parents when all they are doing it trying to get their children. My child was told he couldn’t fill up his water bottle for over 2 hours on the first day of school while waiting in car line, and I arrived over an hour and a half before school let out. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur disdain for this school is not because of the teaching staff or the school itself, it is based on the ineffective and quite honestly, worthless administration. The Guidance Department in particular is a joke! Guidance is supposed to be just that, guidance for our children to help them succeed and prepare for college or otherwise. The Guidance staff at this school does not have time for the students and has even told my student that “they are not special just because they have As”. Great confidence booster! If they say they are going to do something, plan on following up “several” times because chances are they did not. This school claims to be all about college preparedness, but keep in mind your child will have to navigate through a lot of it on their own. My child’s guidance counselor has sent out emails with scholarship info, only to find that deadline had already passed. I will tell you that the teaching staff is undervalued. I had little concerns with the teachers. It is the admin that is awful. And the admin is crucial to the success of a school. My other pet peeve is that this school focuses on entirely the wrong things! Instead of worrying about a rip in the jeans or a shoulder being shown, we should encourage appropriate behaviors among the students. They tell these kids to be adults, but then the hypocrisy is that they treat them like children when it comes to their individuality. This is high school. In the real world they need to be prepared for many different things, which includes the choice and freedom to wear what you want.
