This school is amazing. Yes they still spank kids. Yes they have strict policies and dress codes. I love that. It is preparing our kids to enter the world and not be fragile snowflakes. My biggest complaint is how as parents we don't get a ton of opportunities to be involved in the school.

We made the choice to move from Fort Bend ISD to Needville four years ago to try to get away from the big school pressure and haven't regretted that decision once. Even though there are still 250 students in my high schooler's class, the teachers know almost all the students. We have had several teachers in all of our four children's schools make personal connections to ensure my kids are successful. The teachers we have had experience with LOVE the school district, their jobs and the students. My children come home at night with none or little homework most nights (maybe more some nights or weekends in high school), but there is time again for my kids to play and do chores after school again. There is time for family again.One of my kids needs a 504 due to a very severe allergy and the elementary, middle school and junior high schools have all gone above and beyond to accommodate her needs without any of it seeming like an inconvenience. When my other children have had various needs or issues, the school counselors have always been available to talk and to help us work to find a good solution. At times the principals have been called in to help make decisions and they've been great.Of course no school district is perfect. I'd love to see equal attention, money and recognition given to different sports and UIL activities, however, this IS Texas and Texas IS high school football, so I wasn't surprised by this. The dress code is a bit much as well as some of the rules archaic and strict, but my kids haven't minded the restrictions. Overall we're very happy with Needville ISD. Our family is more involved in extra curricular activities, yet less stressed. There is just the right amount of academic pressure to succeed.

Awful!!!!! This school is a nightmare!!! It’s more like a juvenile detention facility. My child was so scared to go to school that he was throwing up every morning and crying. They yell at the kids for simple things like hair 1/2” too long or shirt not being tucked in. They’re more worried about their rules (which are extremely stringent) then they are teaching the children. They give detention for almost anything a child does that isn’t EXACTLY what the teacher demanded. They don’t accommodate children with special needs. They lie to the parents. The counselor is absolutely worthless. I’ve called many people to complain and don’t get responses, including the superintendent of the district. If you’re looking for a good school for your child(ren), do NOT send them to NISD!
