Love the school, but the new dismissal procedures are so annoyingly unnecessary. They claim it’s to move the line faster but it makes the line move slower. As the old saying goes, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, and it wasn’t broke. I don’t know if it’s completely the new principle causing this unnecessary disruption, but I really miss Dr. Hooker. She really knew how to get the kids out and keep the line moving. I used to be out of the line no later than 2:15 now I’m lucky if we’re out by 2:35. This really sucks, and I wish they would go back to the better way of doing things. It’s always some new person coming in thinking they’re going to make things “better” but end up making things worse.

If I could, I would give it 0 stars, this school is absolutely unprofessional… they treat the students & parents of the students absolutely terrible. They’re unable to accommodate anything & expect every student & parent’s lifestyle to align with their schedule. These staff are not interested in relationships with the students as they are more interested in the money from students’ dues & fees that a struggling parent or student has to pay! My daughter has worked hard her entire 4 years for these people to practically disappear when she graduates! She was left confused on how to handle her early graduation & communication with the school as these people cannot even provide proper information through email, that she had to initiate, either! These staff are more worried about appearances & profit than they are their students & community. That shows.

I love GMA! Activities are very fun, and teachers are very engaging with their students. Location is useful due to being right next to East North Elementary, and the car line is fast enough. Office ladies are super sweet and so are other staff members. Cafeteria food is actually not disgusting and eating time is fine. They have advanced courses for each grade such as 6/7 math, 7/8 math, algebra 1, geometry, french 1, french 2, and more. 7th graders are allowed to take a high school credit course; French 1. There are minor requirements, but it works out for many students. They have a great music program with Strings, Band, Beginning band for 6 and 7 graders, and a chorus. They also have many sports available, like soccer, volleyball, softball, etc. Usually students go from GMA to Eastside High School, but circumstances may vary. Love Gma!
