houck middle school is the best they have good teachers there and they teach good education and they have very good food for lunch and breakfast and when there are fights the staff and security guards the end of hallway they stop the fight in seconds and when the kids get in fights and give them iss or oss witch changes their behavior when they come back to school .

Fantastic, warm, professional staff. Auburn Elementary made our family’s return to public school fabulous. My child has an IEP and had past negative experiences in Portland Public Schools. None of these difficult issues even came up at Auburn. I’m deeply grateful to everyone here for making our family so at home and accommodating my child.

Have taught in FOUR high schools in this city, and honestly this is the most positive, supportive, versatile, resilient staff I have seen. The library is incredibly student friendly, and teachers are unusually available for their students. The biggest hurdle our students have is the idea some families promote that school/education/being smart is somehow not worth the effort. Thankfully, most families do NOT encourage that way of thinking. The French and Japanese programs are outstanding here, as are culinary, arts, woodworking, and sciences. I love this community and encourage students with dreams of International study and travel to look into North Salem HS.
